Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!

************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.

This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.

Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.

We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).

If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.

Skippable 1X

Skipping a 1X: Is it simply taking a chance and trying your luck, or is there a method to it (knowing what is and what isn't skippable), or is it somewhere in between?

I have come across some incredible deals in the past, but with completely un-flyable 1Xs. I always thought flying the 1X was indispensable, but if there is even a probability that skipping it might leave the rest of the itinerary intact, then one could take a semi-educated risk.

Please share your thoughts, and feel free to PM if you prefer.

Base Fares coming down

One of the more prominent "Flight Deals" site is posting a nearly 1/2 RTW deal for ~ $ 550 . With a simple twist it can be cut to almost almost half of that.

Hi WWW,

Thanks!

Some people used to just beg the airline check-in agents to not use coupon sequences in order.

Some airlines have now cracked down on this practice now that they know what's going on.

That C2-C4 J can be dumped to a certain extent. Seeing some fares around ai around $2100 but having a difficult time getting ITA to cooperate on the complexity. Anyone able to do something more fun/exotic with this?

Hey guys, new here. I've been trying to read up on tricks, easy stuff like hidden city. And have spent the last few months on Google trying to understand fuel dumping but all the hints I can find say look for EoE and Side Trip flights which have been hard to come by. This is a growing hobby of mine and I have been going through this thread for the last few days trying to learn. I am not looking to be spoonfed info by any means. But is there any particular direction you can send me or any tips as far as fare rules I should be on the look out for? No region in particular, not planning any flights. Just something about trying to find the best deal even if I never fly it gives me satisfaction. Thank you.

I found multiple 1x that work C2-C6 on Emirates, with the lowest A/I price at €249. However, these strikes don't work on Emirates's routes from NYC to ATH and MXP, and I can't find anything that will completely eliminate the YQ. Can someone nudge me in the right direction? A PM would be appreciated. Thanks

PS, how much can my price for C2-C6 be improved?

Don't know how much it can be improved, depends on BFs ;-)
Imo 249€ is pretty good. Especially if the 1x is "flyable".

Ontarians can get magnetically levitated quite cheaply in the coming months.

Not sure whether you are joking about the begging thing or not, but my recent (past twenty years') experiences with check-in and gate agents make me highly doubt the prospect of success with that.
