Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!

************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.

This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.

Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.

We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).

If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.

Older portions of the thread have been separated into archive thread by year. They are listed below

This is a bit nonsense to post here a coded "trick" which is broadly discussed on various forums and / or blogs...

Just thought of sharing this here for the benefit of this group while maintaining a bit of secrecy to preserve it a bit longer.

How do you want to preserve it a bit longer if it is known for the broad audience? You can post it on Mileage Run Deals, imho.

honestly I didn’t know that it has been posted that many times. The source was written in Chinese. Will proceed to remove it then

I can confirm there are at least 3 similar options for this route, hence the confusion.

Thanks to SourSweetTea for showing me how to book the one I mentioned for 895.17 USD

C2-C1 /rt biz safe, summer, $572.85... very weird way to find OTA, but yes, it works (OTA price is exactly the same as ITA).

I wonder if someone can confirm the price of the strike for this one. As far as I can see, the price of the strike itself (150-200$)doesnt make this dump any attractive..in addition to the extra risk.. unless someone wants to fly the strike anyways.

The cheapest strike I am aware of is for $89 (I mean BF). As for the dumped YQ and BF ratio - everyone can check and decide if something is worth it or not (in many cases it is not).

One of the the AF dump factors is much cheaper but that is really irrelevant since it has to be flown AFAIK.
Good news is that I can fly it because of very cheap positioning flight on AA $ 95.77 from New York JFK.

Don't know where you are heading out of JFK for $95.77 US on AA to catch AF dump factor because everything in antilles or C4 is higher than this price. At least $115 US to PLS, BDA, Quito, Grand Cayman, Nassau. Even Puerto Rico is at least $112 US for a one way.. Thanks for the hint but I don't understand where is this Airport. Unless the X factor is in USA mainland...

Unfortunately sometimes the edited post puts out a price that may not be obvious our accessible to most folks (i cannot access this but one family member can for example) so I rather focus on the spirit of the post. The post gives you a clue on where to start your dump - if you find it, keep that in your back pocket for future travels. It's a lovely place to escape New York winters.

Personally this search reminds me of a childhood series that I really enjoyed - Les Mystérieuses City's D'or - where there are many clues in the search for gold.

I have been devouring the thread content to get up to speed and noticed the AT fare as well on sf website but could not lower the price. I have tried various trimming combinations in c1 as mentioned in cat10FR, in c5n, c2w, c4e & c3se. As a practice run, maybe someone is willing to share some pointers via pm as of how to improve my FR reading skills and move from random app/desserts to targeted ones. Much appreciated folks
