That is exactly for what I am hoping, especially from a SkyTeam airline.

Currently, the ITA engine only shows Iberia offering this fare thus far...

What? Only 30%? Glad I didn't pull the trigger yet. How much total miles will I get if I'm gold with AA?

Amazing. just booked JFK-BCN, BCN-MAD, MAD-JFK for $254 AI over Thanksgiving weekend... unbelievable!! (and as Iberia Plus member you get double IB points for booking at iberia.com).

I'm thinking about it too... but for Halloween weekend to go to the Boo Doo. I totally recommend it. alanw throws a VERY good do, excellent food and good people.

Most AA partner airlines (IB, BA, QF) only earn partial Advantage miles for deep discounted fares. If you are doing it strictly for miles for status then its limited. Still, it is an amazingly good fare and certainly a good deal for just a couple of days in BCN albeit you would be past beach weather. I would book it if my plate was not already for full for that month and I did not have a trip scheduled to Sydney in December.
