ITA Pricing
 

Hi Everyone:

Trying to book this for the summer:

I tried selecting the flights, flight by flight, on Expedia but it's not pricing properly. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong/where I could try?

Have you tried another site eg Orbitz which uses ITA?

Have you tried booking directly with the airline?

XP doesn't seem to allow you to select the LX code share on the YUL-YYZ flight.. only the "real" AC flight #

I suspect that is why it is not pricing out the same...

Seen that problem before when the code share was cheaper... But if you can't select it the fare isn't going to price out... If you were to search on ITA for the return as

BCN:: LX+ AC
YYZ

..to match up exactly with what XP is offering.. I think you'd find the $1104.10 price you are currently getting....(ish!)

Don't know how to get around that other than taking the itin to a TA....

The fare class on your link to ITA is 'W'. I checked availability on the outbound dates you quote and W class is sold out. That is the reason why you can't get that price.

ITA has an option to Check seat availability. Did you select that option? With that option turned off (i.e., not checked), ITA will find the cheapest fares, regardless of whether the seats in that fare class are available.

I had a problem with the pricing of an ITA LX itinerary recently as well (shows up on ITA, orbitz, and cheaptickets but isn't bookable on either of the latter two sites--prices higher). I e-mailed ITA about it and got a response saying there must be an error, but the error appears to continue surfacing.

To the OP:
If you click on questions/comments from the page showing the itinerary you are having trouble with, you can send a message to ITA staff--they'll get the info about what exactly you were looking at.

This itinerary is available for approximately the same price at Orbitz and Cheaptickets. (When looking at the search results there, remember that some of the flights in the ITA itinerary are operated by AC even though coded LX.)

It comes up as available on an initial search, but it is not bookable.

The following message is received when you select it to book it:
"We're sorry. Due to changes in airline availability, the fare for your selected trip is no longer available. We have adjusted the fares for all affected flights. The fare for your selected trip is now $ 953 total. See below. (Message 1048)"

This is the same problem I had with an LX fare on ITA (that also showed up on cheaptickets.com and orbitz.com but wasn't actually bookable).
