Segment Run?

I have been 1k for the past three years, since the majority of my flights have been under 500 this year I will fall well under the mileage requirement. However, I have accumulated about 65 segments. I fly at least once per week, and expect to end the year around 88-90 segments. Does anyone have any ideas of how to gather the extra segments 'ala mileage runs' My base is IAD.

What about flying out of BWI on some US routes competing with WN? Can fly to PIT and back with a connection each way (one EQS each flight), prices out at $35 ai per segment with fare code RXAVNA4Y. Don't know if one can avoid the turboprops, though.

I used to pad segments into my itinerary by connecting between IAD and ORD. For example, if I needed to fly PVD to ORD, I would route PVD-IAD-CMH-ORD. :D Understand?

I made 1K this year and last year by segments and miles. If I needed extra segments, I would price out flights on US and then fly them. I have been able to pick up 2-3 segments per trip to ensure I hit it. I have been lucky and not have had to do that this year since I hit the threshold with miles first this time around. Also, the ITA software really helps, I have booked flights to SFO via 3 connections each way for $400 RT.

Yes, BWI usually connects via ORD, so that's one breif segment. BWI is also a smaler airport, so it's easier to get into/out of, security lines are long, but quick (although no premium security lines). Unfortunately the RCC closed a month ago, and there isn't much in terms of finding electric outlets at the gate. Still lots quieter, and a good way to pad segments.

FYI, if you are checking bags, give yourself a bit of extra time as the check-in, even Premier can be a bit slow in the early AM because of lots of military passengers with special additional bags, and the system usually locks up and it seems to take every check in counter agent to congregate around one terminal for 5 minutes to fix it.
