AA leap to exp help

Am trying hard to qualify as exp but really need some expert guidance. Am in dfw currently with 64 segments and 69k miles. Travel booked thru mid november will give me app 80 segments and 80k miles. will have several weeks between thanksgiving and new year open, pref domestic, but fast (and cheap) international turnarounds are a possibility. any thoughts would be appreciated!

dfw-fra/cdg/zrh-dfw twice.....the 1st year that you could get exp w/ mi's, i did dfw-zrh twice to make it....paid $1100 or so....maybe 2k now....good luck...

I star in LAX so going to Europe I get a few more miles, but mid December I went to HEL, with LHR-HEL on BA. It was only $500 and netted about 14,000 EQMs, enough to get me to ExP. It sounds like you have already made up your mind to do a MR to get to ExP, and based on my experience you won't regret it for a moment.

I have seen that towards the last few months of the year there are multiple offers and promos, and also many cheap options for MR, many people successfully do the DUB or FRA or Florida runs

But what will happen this year with the fact there are higher fuel costs, cut in capacity plus the midyear AADER promo?

Since all travel is on my dime, I can't afford EXP, so I am happy with PLT, but due to AADER I am at the 75K point and I am debating going for EXP?

yes , it looks like a trip (or two) to europe and add a couple of trips to coast-have heard the extra effort is indeed worth it!

There is a way to add miles to a Europe trip from DFW without adding much (if any) cost. That is to "slingshot" out of a west coast city such as LAX or SFO. For example, DFW-LAX/SFO-FRA/MXP/etc-LAX/SFO-DFW. It can turn a 10K mile itinerary into a 16K mile one easily.

As someone who flies SkyTeam, I am not familiar with exp with AA. Is that higher than Advantage Platinum? What are the benefits?
