What does .bomb stand for?

Hi all I saw some interesting mileage runs but according to the poster they have to be booked on .bomb? Problem is I have no idea what .bomb is. Any help is appreciated. And yes I searched the glossary, faq's, and read several forum guidelines/stickies. Nowhere to be found. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

United.Bomb: A reference to United Airline's website - generally meant to be uncomplimentary.

Wow interesting, i feel foolish now, thanks for the quick reply. I see people call it that for the tendencies of the site to go down quickly and often, but isn't there a better name to use for it being that bomb is such a sensitive word especially in the airline industry? I mean what if you're on the phone or talking to a fellow FT on a plane and say oh yea i found it on the BOMB. People will only hear the bomb part.

I only figured this out myself a few days ago.. much confusion and unsuccessful attempts to access http://www.united.bomb preceded that moment of enlightenment..

Yea, that's probably a real problem.

Your next assignment is to figure out what RAR! means.

When talking to other FTers on the phone or in person, we've never needed to refer to the dot bomb. I usually use dot crap though. YMMV.

OP, four posts in a year?

Absolutely nothing. Does my question imply I think it's a *bad* thing?

No need to go further off-topic; since the original question has been answered, I am closing this thread.

For further discussion about United's website, please move any discussion to the United forum.

Kind Regards
