NW: Need 3863 miles from MSP

Hi all,

This is my first MR so please be gentle I'm close to Silver for the first time ever (just started traveling for work) and need help getting there.

Current miles: 21137 (19181 current plus a trip to PHL already booked)
Dates: has to be a weekend, except Dec 15/16

I can find the well-known MSP-SLC-ORD-ATL-MSP on DL for Dec 8, same day turn, $160. However it leaves me 120 miles short and I can't figure out how to force another segment in there. I could go through SLC on both legs, but then it's not same day.

Any ideas? Thanks!

If you could replace ORD with DTW, you're in!

Nice idea, but won't work because right now there's no direct flight SLC-DTW

EDIT: Sorry, I was reading RDM not EQM - this would still leave you slightly short.

Is the fare available if you replace ORD with CVG?

MSP-SLC-CVG-ATL-MSP = 3848 EQM

Any possibility of adding a CVG connection in either direction? Like MSP-CVG-SLC-ORD/CVG-ATL-MSP=4808(ORD)/4902(CVG).

Even MSP-CVG-SLC-CVG-MSP=4092EQM.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

How about:
MSP-ATL-SLC-ATL-MSP=4992 or
MSP-ORD-SLC-ATL-MSP or MSP-ATL-SLC-ORD-MSP=4246

BINGO !! www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=760878

just up on FareCompare - Pick out TWO you like

Code:
MSP -to-
Las Vegas, NV NW 98 120 0.038 1300
Tampa, FL NW 98 100 0.038 1306
San Francisco, CA NW 98 110 0.031 1589
New York-All Airports, NY NW 98 106 0.048 1014
San Diego, CA NW 98 104 0.032 1532
Fort Myers, FL NW 98 110 0.035 1410
Orlando, FL NW 98 80 0.038 1302
Seattle, WA NW 98 102 0.035 1398
Los Angeles, CA NW 98 100 0.032 1535
Palm Springs, CA NW 98 180 0.034 1453
Phoenix, AZ NW 98 90 0.038 1275
Tested LAX on NWA.com = $130ai. MSP-MEM-LAX r/t works, but decent pricing hadn't kicked in.

Hey, thanks for the headsup! That's just what I needed. I saw those fares come across for Sun Country last night and was hoping NW would match them. The only problem is that they aren't on NWA.com yet, and I'm antsy...guess I'll book on Travelocity.

Plus I don't have to do it in two trips. I found MSP-CVG-SFO-MSP on 12/1, red-eye return on 12/2. 4214 miles for $134.20 = 3 cents/mile.
