Hello FTers, I've been a longtime lurker on this thread, and I've even written stories as a journalist on "runners". Yes, I've read the stickys and the "how tos".

I hope you all don't mind me asking for the kindness of strangers.

I have some time off from work, 4 AA VIPS, and I'd like to book a kick-butt mileage runs in business or first class on AA.
My goal is ambitious. 20k-60k in the next 2 months.

Are you in a crunch to rack up enough miles for a certain award?

You could snag the 50K, possibly 60K, with 4 r/ts to LA or SFO thru the AA promo (fly two, one free)....check "Airline offers" section of the AAdvantage Bonus Offers of aa.com for all the details. You'll see by similarly titled threads in the AA forum that several are doing that.

If it's status you're after (assuming EXP since you're a current Plat, or just a Plat re-qual), then you've got some serious international flying to do, and should start scoping out farecompare.com, along with AA's prices to Asia, South America, Europe, etc. You'd be looking at markets farther on that what AA flies, going there on AA codeshares. Example, you wouldn't just be looking at going to Tokyo, but to Tapei, Singapore, Bangkok, etc.

Since you're in DFW, register for the FLY2 promo and book trips to SJC, SFO, PDX, and OAK. Do that 4 times and you get a bonus of 50,000 - consider that your consolation prize if you do not make PLT. You have to be prepared to spend some cash though - it's the 1st week of October and you need all the trips you can get. I've found trip #1 for you - DFW to OAK on 11/22 for 248.80 all in. Of course, you'll have to explain to your family why Thanksgiving dinner must start after 5pm. The fare is available again on the following day, 11/23. The are same day mileage runs with 50 minute turn-around time.
