SMF MR Help Please

Hey Everyone,
I am new here. Due to traveling for work and attending weddings this year, I find myself much closer to attaining elite status than before. I am about 5600 miles short of reaching silver on OnePass and am considering doing a mileage run.

I have been doing some reading here and doing some fare searches using the airline websites and Yahoo Travel (the ITA website doesn’t seem to be working for me). I have been looking but haven’t been able to get anywhere close to the 3 cents per EQM that someone posted as the magic number.

Continental has hubs at IAH and CLE and I did some looking but I am not really sure what I am looking for (i.e. valid routing and destination cities which yield a lot of miles but are cheap to fly to/through). Can anyone please suggest some possible itineraries for me?

I would like to leave either Friday night (red-eye) or Saturday morning and return on Sunday. If the destination is interesting I am not opposed to staying the night and doing some sight seeing. Also, if there are more options in the Bay Area I am not opposed to flying out of OAK/SFO/SJC.

Thank you for your help!

Welcome to FT! Looks like there's a cheap-ish fare to Wilkes-Barre, PA, for $160+ or ~200 all in on CO, NW or DL. If you are creative in your routing, you should be able come up with something close to 3c/mi, and around 6K mi.

Also, look at this site for other good deals.

Right now, just after a cursory search, SMF-PHL on Continental for 193 all in. That'd get ya 5858 miles, so about 3.3 cpm not too bad. One night stay required.

Thank you both very much! I have been away for some time due to family visiting. I appreciate the help. ^

I just wanted to post an update. I booked a ticket for SMF-IAH-PHL-IAH-SMF on Sept 22 for 269.60 all in. That's around 4.6 cpm but doesn't require an overnight stay and I am able to do soon.

Thank you again to Palal and JayhawkCO for your help. I didn't do as well as your suggestions but I am happy with the price.
