It's my first MR and I am a bit concerned that somethings goes wrong or I will be too embarassed...
You picked the very best airport for such a task! Regarding airside, security, etc., one needs to remember that security at US airports is a bit different than what you might find elsewhere, specifically in that the "real" security is often at the gate, not where you enter the main part of the airport. You still need a valid boarding pass to get into the airport, but there's (usually) no screening process.

What this means is that you might not be able to make a 30 minute connection, even without luggage, that would be a breeze in the US. Getting to the gate 20 minutes prior to flight will quite likely to too late. This of course isn't an issue for SIN, since you've got several hours between flights.

The only time this caused me grief was for a turnaround at MNL. I had not expected security to be such an issue, getting off a plane and then getting back on, same plane, same gate. Security was chaotic, involved multiple people checking you, and had that feeling, hopefully untrue, that a greased palm could get you through faster.

Abu (AUH) Dhabi MR turn

Searched the thread and didnot find any info on the AUH turn around MR. Arriving on BA073 @ 23.05.. Out on BA072 @ 02.10

Necessary to clear immigration/customs or can stay in transit area? If I recall from my last trip, i think that transit passengers still have to clear some area?

I don't know how often this happens, but I once went on a status run, and my seat neighbour asked me why I went on such a long flight for only one day. I told her I was doing a status run and she said, "Really? Me too!I just need to do a few more of these, and I'll have status by the end of the year!" We then had a very interesting conversation about status runs, lounge access, etc. It was really nice to talk about those things with her. Unfortunately, I can't talk about those things with my family because none of them would understand.
Anyway, you never know how many other status runners are on your flight!

DFW-INC-DFW can easily be done as a turn. I did it on AA, and did not need to fill out any customs or immigrations forms. We arrived at gate 123, and the same aircraft departed from that gate about 2.5 hours later. Leave the gate, turn right, walk past the first moving sidewalk, and look for a burgundy sign to the left for gate 100-150 (I think) transfers. You WILL need your arrival boarding pass at transit security as well as your onward BP. (I had the gate agent in DFW print my return BP.) Once you're through transit security, go up the escalator, and the AA partner lounge is the Korean Air lounge near gate 115. Shower rooms are nice. Then it's a short walk back to the departure gait. Smooth and easy for my first international mileage run!

KL immediate turnaround GVA

Hi guys,

Couldn't find any info regarding immediate turnarounds in GVA..

Looking at a KL flight from AMS to GVA, returning 45 mins later.
Is it possible to stay in transitzone? Or do I have to pass through bordercontrol, security etc?

DPS turnaround post-VOA and dep tax removal

Now that DPS (and Indonesia as a whole) don't require a $35 visa on arrival since 2015 and they also started including the local departure tax (a.k.a. PSC) in all outbound ticket prices around then too - it seems like transit should be much faster/easier now?

Has anyone done an immediate turn around there in 2016/17 since these important time saving changes have both been in effect?

Is it possible to stay in transitzone? Or do I have to pass through bordercontrol, security etc?

You remain in the schengen zone so no immigration involved (except at AMS if connecting from outside schengen zone). There will be security check though.

Assuming you can get return BP at AMS and do not have checked bags, a turnaround should be feasible.

Alternatively if I add $100, both tickets 1 and 2 will be on MH, which would perhaps incite a weirder look from the check in agent in SIN?

If it's a true mileage run, why is a checked bag needed?

If MH would consider this a legal ticket, I can't see where the check in agent is going to pay any attention to it, especially if you're not checking baggage. For only $100 extra, I'd definitely put it on one ticket.

But you're still talking two tickets, but on one (ticket issuing) carrier if I'm reading this correctly? Not as ideal but still a whole lot better than two carriers. You'd want to make sure you aren't running afoul of anything like an end-on-end rule. If you really want to get confused, you can check out definitions of such things here.

Took advantage of the HND-USA deals on DL earlier this year. Having completed one trip already and with a few more coming, I gotta say that the turnaround in HND could not be any easier! Departed the plane, walked 5 mins down a long hallway, went through the transit inspection after showing my boarding pass for upcoming flight, and was at my gate within minutes. Really, the experience took no more than 15mins and I was taking my time. Big fan.
