AA/One World: 2024 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

AA/One World: 2024 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed

In order to organize the end-of-year crush of Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread for the airlines with the most frequent requests. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request, please include the following information in this thread:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:

For each response. Please quote the original request.

On behalf to the Mileage Run Moderator team, I would like to express our thanks to the many FlyerTalkers who have risen to the challenge and helped so many members with their helpful suggestions.

These consolidated threads make managing the year end traffic much smoother.

Hopefully, all are successful with their runs.

Departure Airport: BNE/SYD
Miles Needed: 21500+
Required Spend or Budget:

Available Travel Dates: Feb 2024
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: OW - avoiding BA for rev earn. (QF, CX, MH, JL, FJ, AY)

Can also mix with the meagre AA Hotel deals. I don't have any access to AA LP earning through other spend.

Would like to hit the lounges in HKG, SIN I've missed out on for a while.

AA EXP so should receive a 120% loyalty bonus? Possibly an Econ/PE trip up to Singapore/HK. Interested in Intra-Asia fares - CGK-TYO or whatever is MR cost effective.

Are you crediting to Qantas or American? Asking so I can make a proper suggestion as Fiji (FJ) doesn't earn Loyalty Points, but does earn Status Credits.

Crediting to American as an EXP. So unfortunately Cathay is not very good unless in PE or J. And the BA SYD-SIN deals are no good anymore (unless there's some codeshare?)

Sounds like they are crediting to American in which case they would earn Loyalty Points per Dollar (970 * 8 = 7760) at a Cost per LP of 12.5 cents (not bad)

These flights are all AA metal.

Maybe claify for me? I keep hearing flight miles do not equal loyalty points only $$$ fare. is that correct?

I just flew PHL-MEL and PHL-IND and got loyalty points for every mile and bonus miles.

Is that no longer the case? I got miles for loyalty points for my flights. Has that ended?

Earning mileage based on ticket price started several years ago and your example shows that.

IND-PHL is 587 miles (if you look at the Million MIler line). Had you found a special fare and earned mileage based on distance you should have earned 50% of the miles flown as redeemable and loyalty points or 293 miles for that segment. You earned 1945 base loyalty points, so the price of that segment must have been $389.

Your return segment was again 587 miles and should have earned 293 miles based on fare code, but you earned 1900 loyalty points, so the price of that segment must have been $380.

Your roundtrip ticket must have cost $769.+ taxes and fees. Under the date of the flight you can even see Method is "Fare".

SPN Lifer and lensovet like this.

Are you crediting flights to AA or Alaska? If you are crediting to AA then you'll earn based on the base fare (5 loyalty points per dollar). Assuming you don't have status you'll need to spend 24318 / 5 = $4863.60 + taxes.

If you fly on an airline other than BA or IB you'll earn based on mileage flown and fare code.

Tier point run - 900TP within 7 weeks

Hi all,
I need 900 Tier Points before April 6th and was wondering if you knew of any good TP runs for around 1200?
Could consider BA holidays with double tier points but not sure if economically would work out.
Can be flights on multiple days
EX london / UK / EU
Left it quite late to get them as plans changed

Seems like your best bet is Europe, somewhere beyond London. RT would get you 10k miles.
DFW-MAD around $1700 is what I am seeing.

Just wanted to confirm this again that AA LP points are based on Amount spend and not the miles so if I can spend 950-1000 dollars then I should get the 1000 * 11 = 11000 LP correct? Looking at some of Business class trip to ORD or somewhere tomorrow (Same day return).
