AA/One World: 2024 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

You are right - it is a simpler way to do it... spend $1k base fare as an EXP should get you more than 10k LP.

Departure Airport: Preferably London, but any NW Europe is ok
Miles Needed: Need about 150 Qatar tier points
Required Spend or Budget: I can buy the tier points for about USD$2,200 - so less than that
Available Travel Dates: Anytime from now to end April
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Doesnt matter

Some options Im looking at .. a few Tenerife round trips (looks like theyre each ~60 in J); Europe to Kuala Lumpur (about ~100).

I don't see prices anywhere close to $60 in J, but doesn't Tenerife solve your problem? A few business class flights seems like an easy solution.

I think they were referring to QPoints, but I see 36 QPoints for a roundtrip from London to Tenerife, so I'm not sure.

Yes... referring to Qpoints . It gets closer to 60 on Iberia (e.g. FRA-MAD-TFS)

Not sure how much that flight to Tenerife costs, but Edinburgh to Granada - $647 r/t and earns 64 QPoints. Cost per QPoints is $10.11

Nice! Thanks for looking. That seems like a good redemption

I've managed to book a few business trips for April, which bring my need down by around ~70 QPoints. And this helps a lot too.

I found one other option at $8 per QPoint but it's a bit of a trek -- CDG-AMM-BKK-HKG and back.

Thanks
Take a short roundtrip from NYC. Keep in mind that your cost per TP is going to be horrid!

JFK-ORH - $280 r/t - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...csWgvYik5h9JF8
JFK-CMH - $299 r/t - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...t9B5anL8j2G8aA
LGA-CVG - $299 r/t - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...WEoAtaG9QYcYq9
LGA-CHO - $299 r/t - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...eKMCK2wAm3L8g9
LGA-RIC - $299 r/t - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...M6jHPgTnbHzu58

If you increase your budget quite a bit you can get a decent tier point run out of MSP or DTW (to the West Coast via CLT/PHL).

DTW-CLT-SEA - $669 r/t (360 TP's at $1.8533 each) - https://www.google.com/travel/flight...6CKQ7sivRs69e8
Or booked as one-way flights

Departure Airport(s): pretty much any European airport
Miles Needed: Need 150 BAEC TPs
Max Budget: €400
Available Travel Dates: from now until Oct 8 (TP year end)
Max # Travel Nights: 1-2 nights (weekends), or any B2B (weekend) or B2B evening-morning (any day) - limited by fairly strict 9-5.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: OW partners

I did have a look at TIA & SOF classic B2Bs from LHR (160TP) but no luck given my availability. Thanks for helping out!

Not a great cost per TP, but almost fits the budget and can be completed same-day...

You could fly Iberia from Madrid (MAD) to Nantes (NTE) or the reverse on many dates for $226 / 208 EUR / 178 GBP roundtrip in "business". You'd earn 80 TP's for each roundtrip, so you'd have to do two of them and you'd blow your budget by 16 EUR, but it's a quick and easy option.

https://www.google.com/travel/flight...wWNB6NzvyUCSz6

Spoiler

If you wanted to do it all in one trip, BSL to MAD is $463 USD / 426 EUR roundtrip and would earn 160 TP's at a slightly higher cost.

https://www.google.com/travel/flight...AVPKwqqeYSfXF8

Spoiler

Or LHR-VGO - $421 / 332 GBP / 387 EUR roundtrip - 160 TP's

Lie-flat seat on the flight to Madrid.

EDIT
Nevermind, captainarabiia hit post at the same time as me and has a better suggestion!

As always, thanks a lot. Should've been tighter on the budget then I guess. Can you think of a cheaper solution? Or if not, do you reckon such can appear sometime during summer?

I doubt prices will drop for summer months. That's when all the tourists head to Europe. They might drop a little for September.
