Checking bags on fuel dump flight?

Hello! I'm a fuel dump newbie but found one (with a lot of help) where I'll be traveling in April but the dump flight is a few months later. I'm guessing if I check a bag, the airline would see the whole itinerary and potentially cancel it? They are two separate airlines that are not codeshares if that makes any difference. Thanks so much!!

I don't think they cancel flights, they just ambush you at the gate...:p

Since the last segment is a few months later, your checked baggage this time will be all good.
When you arrive at the airport, your baggage will be there lying on a carousel waiting for you :p

They can't see and It's not their job anyway. Check-in IS their job and your luggage will be there. Only time it ever happened to me was in Stuttgart airport. AirBerlin agent smiled and winked at me. "So you are going to fly an intra Saudi Arabia flight next week "Auf wiedersehen und gute reise."

Had a lounge agent see my itinerary once and comment about being in Bahrain the next week and before I could answer said "actually, never mind, have a good trip. ;)"

Did a few FD flights in the past when knowledge was being shared. Please keep these hints coming... :)

I have been a decades old FF, but just learned about fuel dumping flights. Great, now I will spend a ton of time trying to find them. Just what I needed, another excuse to travel!
Thanks Bluemoon71 !

I am also new to the fuel dumping flights. Is there a good tutorial to read? also, would the airline come to me if I do it frequently?

Reading through the trick it thread is a good start. However, unless you attach a very low valuation to your own time or you really like playing with ITA matrix, its not really worth it.

Yeah I am learning that very fact. Even just learning the ITA stuff is time consuming.
