AA/One World: 2022 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

Not sure if it's fine posting here for help needed. But I'll try anyways and just let me know where's the right place to post it. I need help to meet AA Platinum. AA is offering $1,232 to buy up. Not sure if doable with status expiring Feb 28, 2023.

Departure Airport: WAS
Miles Needed: 12,000
Required Spend or Budget: Flexible
Available Travel Dates: February (preferably Friday-weekends)
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Metal or CS is okay.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

I think your best bet is to look into hotel bookings via RM (RocketMiles) or BAAH (Book AA Hotels). Check out the link below. Maybe ask your question there. I did a quick look and there are properties where you should be able to get whatever miles/LPs you need at around 2.6-2.8 cpm, inclusive of taxes. Roughly ~$315$340 if youre looking to earn 12,000 miles/LPs. I prefer RM. Maybe look to Bali. Sort by lowest cost ($20-22). Ignore properties that dont offer bonus (typically 3,000 extra miles/LPs per night for ~2.5 cpm). Do your math. You want non-refundable. Points generally show up in less than a week from date of stay. Enjoy your virtual time on the beach!

Thank you. Booked a 2-night stay that earns 9k aa miles plus added 6k base miles for $150 so I should have enough to maintain my Platinum status. So all set for now.

Needed 6 segments before March 1 ( 30 segments)

Hi guys, need your help. I have reached more than 225k loyalty points so I have been an exec platinum member for 18 years now. But I need to fly 6 more segments so I can get my 5 systemwide upgrades. I wanna do it around feb 27 and 28. I prefer a plane that has lie flat business class seats then if none then it is okay. I can fly out of lax, sna, ont. I just wanna do 1 overnight flight to be done with the 6 segments. Thank you guys for the suggestions!!

You might be better off posting this on the AA forum, either existing thread or start one. More eyeballs. This thread has not gotten much traction. That said, one approach would be to fly AS to/from LAX-SFO all day on the 28th. There are enough scheduled flights to get 6 segments completed in one (longish) day. The fares are $99 each way, so youd be looking at around $600. Not cheap, but Im not sure what else youre going to find with just 6 days to go. If you space your flights out, you should be good to go. Note that some the planes just turn around for the following flight, so 45 mins connection is fine. Also, as EXP, you can use SDCs at no cost should one or more flights be delayed. Good luck!

I did it this way, too, except mine were revenue flights (about $45/segmentcould have been $35/seg in BE, but I wanted some flexibility). Short regional flightsaverage distance of <250 miles/seg. HPN-DCA-CLT-RDU-CLT-DCA-HPN.

How many miles did you earn from this route?

Miles? Negligible2266 r/t. Miles were not the objective. I needed to get to 30 segments to unlock 3 levels of loyalty choice rewards, which will give me 7 SWUs (once I make my electionswaiting until ~ March 30 to do that in order to extend their expiration date), With traditional mileage run, focus is usually on getting most qualifying miles/points at lowest cpm/cpp. For segment run, goal (mine anyway) was to get cheapest cost/segment and to look for short flights so that I could go out and back in a day (no overnights). I needed another 20 segments (am more of a frequent spender than frequent flyer), and with new LP system, saw opportunity to get SWUs at effective cost of ~$150 each). EXP is nice, but I dont fly AA often enough for that alone to justify 20 flights to nowhere. I was in it for the SWUs which I plan to use for intl travel. Mission accomplished in 4 days (not consecutive!). Wasnt too horrible. Got AC day passes for quick pit stops. Got comp FC upgrades on 18/20 flightsonly missed on 2 that were SDCs due to weather. And with flown segments no longer being required going forward (on AA anyway), this was a once and done endeavor.

Hi, sorry in advance for the please help me find a run post, I am very new here and a bit overwhelmed even having watched many YT videos!

I am looking for a 1080 TP run going anywhere for any amount of time between 25th March 23 (yes I know a tough ask!) and 2nd April.

Max Budget 2500 and would ideally like 2 23hr stopovers but not fussed on destination. Have tried already tried Spain to West Coast but struggling. Will keep trying to build on ITA Matrix but any help would be hugely appreciated.

Promising this will be my first and only post of this kind.

Thank you

Hi,

I need to do a run before April 8th and have found BUD-LHR-LAX-HNL return. Could anyone help improve this to maximise TPs and ideally reduce cost? Currently 2,180 pp for two people Sun 26 MAR - return leg starting 1st Apr 23. Ideally want to take advantage of the BAH offer but struggling to make it work. Happy to have 23hr stopovers anywhere on route, need to return by Apr 3rd.

Thanks
