I assume you're going to ask them for a cash refund?
it's a little crazy that they're getting away with cancelling the $1k tickets ~three months after issuing them when they're still selling J flights to LIM and SCL for next year in the ~$1600 price range. Yes, it's 60% more than the $1k fare, but a far cry from their "we forgot to add a zero" excuse for a $10,000 fare.

The best part is that the 25% discount voucher code for IB.com given as a compensation has to be used in 15 days, like whiskey tango foxtrot. I will not use it so if anyone is booking a flight by EOM, DM me and I'll give you the code

yea that's prob what I have to do. Currently on the phone with amex travel and see what they can do. I just booked a flight to Easter Island last weekend, thinking that it's been a long time and they won't cancel it anymore and now this🤦

Although, given it's Iberia, I am surprised they even offered the token 25% discount voucher.

Another funny thing is, unless I'm mistaken, is the new fare they put me on only 497 EUR? Essentially I paid $1k for a ~$500 ticket??
*EDIT: i guess plus a random $400 "carrier surcharge" that would put it close to $1k
Tarifa aérea/Air fare
Tarifa equivalente / Equivalent fare
Precio total a pagar/Price and form of payment
EUR 497,00
Cargo de compañía / Carrier charge
Gastos de gestión / Service fee
Gastos por tarjeta / Credit car fee EUR 0.00
Precio / Price EUR 0,00
EUR PD400.00
EUR 0,00
EUR 0,00 (EUR PD400,00 YQ; PD20,20 JD; PD0,63 OG; PD3,27 QV; PD25,69
ZQ)

Amex rep said IB took control of the ticket so they cannot refund it. Then I called IB and they said the ticket has been refunded already. What a joke of an airline

Missed one call from Spain and the voicemail said I can choose economy or refund and they will reach out again the next day. Never received another call but got an email saying they just put me in economy and reissued the ticket. This is the $1k non-stop fare bought with amex

That being said, it’s quite disappointing that some took an error fare to court. Airlines will now be less tempted to honour error fares in the future.

My ticket is still live. Booked at an OTA, two weeks later one flight in the booking got canceled, contacted the OTA and about a week later a new ticket was issued by Latam. The new ticket even says Reissue due to involuntary schedule change and shows the old ticket number as exchanged ticket. The new ticket issue date is therefore well outside the time frame of the issued tickets from the error fare. I think I might have slipped through cause of this lucky circumstance.
I start to feel pretty comfortable that I can actually fly the ticket. Do you guys think there could be any issues at MAD airport? My only concern is, that the Latam e-ticket still shows the old ticket number under the "exchanged ticket" section.

Current situation is that the ticket issued by Amex Travel (075-7XXX) was voided to a $0 value when Iberia unilaterally reissued a ticket in Economy under their control (075-1XXX). Iberia can't process a refund and Amex Travel has no access to the new ticket.
- Iberia customer service asked for Amex Travel to call Iberia trade helpdesk (travel agency service line) directly to process a refund by the accounting department
- Then the agency service line directed Amex Travel to have me file a claim at https://www.iberia.com/us/proof-request/
- I would hear back a few days later directing me to call Amex Travel
and I've been in this loop for a month now
what a ducking mess

Just came back from flying this fare, booked via AMEX.
Happy to have had a lie flat for such a long trip, but IB service is atrocious and their A330’s could use a refurb or better yet, retirement. Very good champagne and wines on LA, crew much nicer than on IB.
