I find it weird that I’ve had zero contact from anyone since the initial booking confirmation email from LastMinute, yet most of you seem to have received cancellation notices already.

My outbound MAD-GRU-SCL has disappeared on Iberia now - can only view the return, which is a direct SCL-MAD, still showing in J.

Nothing visible when trying through LA.

Am I right assuming that they are in panic mode now trying to mitigate a big mess in their premium class?
The single email that I've received from Latam was the announcement that the BCN-GRU flight was cancelled.

No offer to complete the journey in economy has been received.

Out of interest, can I ask who has received an offer to complete the trip in economy? I have not thus far.

As much as I would love to see my ticket reinstated, I agree with @Smiley90's concerns that I'd want more proof before sending out all my identity details.

I believe that they are only reaching out to people who have proactively contacted either LATAM or SERNAC directly. Not to people who have not contacted either entity

Are you willing to fly it in Y? If so, then no need to give your details and $40 to the lawyers who are sorting this. You can contact LATAM directly and ask to be put in Y (there are apparently notes on everyone's PNRs to allow an economy ticket for this price). If you are granted Y, then you will be given a new PNR and info on how to pay for it online (for the price you paid for the J ticket originally)

Does anyone really want to spend an entire day sat in IB/LA economy?

Maybe your ticket is still valid, even though you had segments changed/removed due to the schedule change?

Exactly, Flyertalk is not always about the destination, and sometimes not even about the journey, but rather about the journey of booking the journey, and all the fun we have along the way...

Why can you not share? You have more uncancelled ones coming up?

The situation for me was very different because the cancellations hadn't come through when I flew.
More specifically, I don't want to provide information that could be misleading (or false hope) to people who are trying to progress their tickets.
And, I have an open case, so don't want to prejudice that.

Well, some people (not me) booked this to get back "home" at a cheap price to see their families after many years so their intent was mainly to travel to south america. In my case, (and maybe most of the posters here), it was mostly as a mileage run, but some people will gladly fly in Y for 350 Euros round trip based on what I understood from the whatsapp forum posts. Most of the times it costs at least double this fare to fly to Chile from Spain, especially during the end of the year (I know that well as I look every year for flights for a Chilean friend of mine living in the same city as me). A lot of people were asking if checked-in luggage was included in their new tickets etc... (the reply was that some got rebooked in Economy light with just a carry-on and some got 2PC from what I understood)

You are quite right. I was fortunate enough to be routed directly and it had over 99%+ occupancy when the captain read the numbers out (and there were several planes leaving to the same destination within an hour of each other).. I was astonished as it was such a long flight and my hips and back would really struggle. Good luck to everyone still with tickets. I can't really fault IB/LA, as they saw the price and still progressed me to my destination.

Well thank you very much sir! This wide eyed innocent newbie just got his ticket reinstated in business by going through a Chilean lawyer!
You can easily do the same. But then you'd have to admit you're a wide eyed innocent newbie too?
Anyway, I'm going to enjoy the trip.
