No big changes since yesterday, most folks are waiting on the Chilean demands already presented and that should have a quick turnaround. Bear in mind there are some complexities if you not local / not resident.

The Spanish joint demand is also moving but pending on a few associations to provide more details. Overall there is very positive feedback that this was a flagrant contract violation.

We have also collected screenshots where it can be sent that A: this flights were proactively offered by Booking as a better option than economy. (pop up) and B: that the fare was indeed marketed as Promotional. Specially the latter might be very relevant for a demand.

I wasn't sure before if the link was ok to share to the board, but seems so, I think the OP of the group had too low of a post count to link.

My unrealistic hope of sliding through the cracks was just destroyed. Latam and Iberia now show my outbound flight (direct MAD-SCL) cancelled, the booking was done via booking.com - So they are still in the process of cancelling the cheap OTA flights.
Curious if booking.com will also send me the standard message soon.

the same here. First they changed my flight and everything seemed ok but now it appears on the Iberia website as "cancelled". We knew that this moment was going to come...

I appreciate the effort, but it's exactly as I expected, a massive volume of messages in messages (I mean... it's WhatsApp with 300+ members). I also saw that someone else already asked people to remain on topic - I doubt they will be able to make that work, there are just too many people and WhatsApp simply makes people "chatty".
But for someone who doesn't speak Spanish, it's very difficult to tell which messages are important, and which aren't. I really can't copy&paste every single message into Google Translate to see if it's relevant.

Maybe it would be more useful if some of the Spanish speakers could update us here when there's something to take action on? For example if there is a lawyer willing to take up this case etc.

At least they didn't deny you boarding at the airport. Move on! - there will be other opportunities out there.

Based on my understanding from the whatsapp forum (not a spanish speaker), some people got denied boarding recently. Not sure if they got any rerouting or compensation, and not clear if their tickets were still valid at the time they showed up at the airport though.

As of r/n - seems like there are conversations with attorneys, but nothing specific. Also Chilean TV station might do a segment on this (not sure if this might help or hurt). We'll see.

Am I the only one thinking: hard luck let’s move on and search for the next deal?
Do you people find it justified to go to court over this? Do you never make errors? Would you like being dragged to court each time you make one?
I am constantly looking for the best deal and trying to cut fat from tickets, but legal action because you want to take advantage of an involuntary error is just one step too far for me!
Standing by for incoming…

Yep. I make errors all the time. When I make them with Airlines, I am always made to pay - literally.

I largely agree with what you are saying, however, how many among us has never been screwed by an airline. I personally have been many times.

As an example, at the start of the pandemic I had a few flights which were cancelled by the airline due to lockdowns etc, for these I was offered a credit voucher. Changing these to a cash payment involved several hours on hold when calling the airline plus a 10 week wait for the payment so left it with the voucher in good faith.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered the voucher had "expired" when I eventually tried to use them...

Who among us has never had an involuntary downgrade, or accidentally booked the wrong date for a flight? How did the airline treat you? All airlines play hardball with their customers.

I tried to keep people from getting out of focus but it has been impossible, 430 people already in the WhatsApp group. maybe it's a better idea as you say keep updated in this forum in case there is any group action. I will try, but my English is not very good…

for the moment tomorrow they will speak about this on Chilean television, I think
