AA/One World: 2022 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

With the new LP system and with few international J fare deals to be found, I doubt you'll be able to come close to 30,000 LP from a maximum $1,500 in flights.

15 segments in one night?

There's not much anyone here can offer re: segments. You just need to find a cheap r/t hop and do it over and over, or take a bunch of JFK-CLT-MIA-CUN type of trips.

For 30 k LPs you need an imaginery hotel stay anywhere around the world for about $700-800 total.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm going to need a similar amount of LPs to hit ExecPlat, I think. Been scouring the shopping and hotel sites and haven't seen a deal quite this meaty. Can find some two-night hotel stays that get LPs down to about $.04 per for 11,000 LPs (~$440 total hotel bill), but nothing either cheaper or with greater LPs than that.

You have to find a hotel that costs around $20-25/night (mostly in Asia) in bookaahotels (baah) and gives some miles, and then add the two boosters for 2k miles each. The mile boosters used to cost each $40 (for 2k miles), now they are at $50, but they may go back down again. So this brings the cost around 2.4 cpm, when the boosters cost $40. With the two boosters now at $50 each, the cost will be around 2.8cpm, still way better than the 4 cpm you cited above. More info in the baah vs rocket miles thread.

Ah, right on, wasn't thinking about different geographies. How does one "check in" to the hotel, in this case? (appreciate the guidance here!)

Read the baah thread. I prefer to book one night at a time and nonrefundable, although possibly neither matters.

London - Hawaii tier point run, Sept 23

Can anyone help me get this one sorted.

Planning the trip of our lifetime for our 25th wedding anniversary and our retirement.

The flights have to be with One World, as I wanted to do a tier point run with BA, any time from the end of August, but we have to be back in the UK before the end of September so that we can get double tier points too. Needs to be Business class or higher.
My ideal trip would be:
Starting in the UK - IAD, spending 2/3 nights in Washinghton
Then on to SAN, spending 5 nights in San Diego
Then on to Hawaii, spending at least 7 nights there
Then on to Tahiti or Bora Bora for a few nights there
Then back to LHR however is best but ideally with a couple of stops for tier points

If I was to book it, I would book separate flights ie
LHR - IAD returning circa 21 days later
IAD - SAN returning 18 days later
SAN - HNL returning 13 days later
HNL - BOB returning 4 days later

Something like that.

Doesn't matter if we have to do a couple of stops in between, all the better for more tier points with one world.

I am not the most tech savvy and am seriously struggling with ITA so any help would be very much appreciated.

This is seriously long and complicated, so I imagine you'll get no replies or tons, but I have a main question. How are you wanting to book this? You mention returning X days later several times. Are you hoping to book maybe the LHR-IAD as a round trip and then everything else all one way? Or everything one way? Or you don't really care?

I would like to book this via BA holidays with the hotels, so I get the double tier points. Hotels are the simple part.

I really do not care how I go about booking the flights whether singles or returns.
The cheapest way I can see to book it is by separate return flights. ie fly LHR - SAN via another stop or 2 en route. Then another flight from SAN to HON.

Going to Washington is not a deal breaker, that would just be a bonus as we have never been, but San Diego and Hawaii are the crucial parts.

If I could suss out how to use ITA Matrix, maybe I could do it myself but whatever I try by adding the various airports in whichever section, I am not getting the answers I need.

I need help!
