Flew a roundtrip LAX-CPH booked in the same R class back in March/May 2019. Went off without a hitch. Booked directly with Air Canada. A few weeks before departure, Air Canada changed the booking to P class. Received all benefits of paid international business class, including a BMW transfer at YYZ and access to the Signature Suite. YMMV of course this time.

I've tried about 6 now.
One actually produced the error "Please check These Errors ‡CODE - UC SEG STATUS NOT ALLOWED-0003" which seems reasonable for trying to ticket in R class.

I have a friend with a travel agency and I feed him the flights and because is R, actually the segments can’t be sold. It needs to have N and R and it sits in Business, is a plus up fare.

I just tried it on flights that all had N and R space and I still couldn't do it.

Tried booking through Amex Travel, let me get all the way to the end, then "The flight requested is no longer available, please try a new search."

You can have some fun with the routing on this btw. Can do LAX/SFO-YVR-YUL-CAI for about 2K more miles. Can also stop across multiple cities in the US/Can too if wanted
