You can book towards the end of the year. Right now Chile is almost on par with the US for vaccinations per 100K, The only reason I was considering Chile is for that reason. Israel is at 83.2, Seychelles is at 67.2, UK at 27.5, US 19.4 and Chile at 15.8, so they are right up there, by the end of the year they should be in good shape one can hope. I have already been to IPC, I loved it!! I wish I could go back

Quick note that these are showing up in the Chase UR portal as well; $304 for the dates I checked. Sadly, they seem to have changed that portal and now I can't seem to get the fare rules. Probably not consolidator fares, but wouldn't it be great if they were?

Looks like this might be back -- I'm finding fares in the $400 range again. Tempted to do this later this year (I've already got tickets for January) and credit to Alaska. (FWIW, I can't find dates that work on aavacations; hotels and cars come up as unavailable.)

Chile still closed to tourists
My understanding is Tourists are not allowed until End of September 2021 into Chile.
What options do we have? Has anyone been able to change the ticket dates without penalty?

I just got a flight change notice, changing my JFK-SCL nonstop to a JFK-MIA-SCL adventure. Any ideas if this would be a significant enough change to cancel for a full refund under AA terms. I really wanted to take this deal (steal?) of a flight, but things aren’t looking great for entering Chile in early November.

Thanks for the datapoint. I was really hoping to go on this trip but it’s looking like a non-negligible probability of Chile refusing Americans entry in November.

Is ineligibility (for non-Chileans) to enter, enough to ask for a refund from AA? I could see that be a resounding yes for some carriers; my guess is AA is a HUCA type situation. But maybe it's so unlikely as to not even attempt it?
