I know logic won't help in such cases, but whatever bureaucrat came up with that entry condition must be an idiot.

I'm guessing that the question was related to covid incubation period, during which it may not be detected. Otherwise Brazil is not subject to any type of boycott. But the incubation period is 2 weeks at most. If one doesn't start shedding viruses in 2 weeks, they must be immune.

I had friends that went to Italy just before the start of the pandemic, and they were shut out of most countries for all of 2020, but that was pre-vaccine.

My flights in OCT and NOV (MIA-RIO) were cancelled and not automatically rebooked (I can see next available flights are day+1). Who can advise please what is the goodwill policy that applies for such cancellations?
I know ther is no voluntary change fee for fares discussed in this thread but my AA knowledge ends there.

Anyone else had their CHEAP US-Brazil booking cancelled?
I have my booking for late December and Early January. I have never been in Brazil. Has anyone taken trip with this deal?

Southern Brazil should be cheap and awesome. Originally I thought of using Brazil as a springboard to somewhere else in S.America or to a cheap MR to another continent. But it may well be that most destinations will continue to be closed to flights originating in Brazil. So this will likely end up being a short vacation somewhere in Brazil.

Have you got the problem fixed? There is similar thread on AA forum that is similar to your situation.

I did not try to reschedule +/- next available flight (which is +/- day) as I cant fly that soon, so i refunded one ticket and will soon refund the other. They told me on Twitter that moving that to a date of my choice (like for some old covid tickets) would trigger repricing, only next available flight change is at no extra cost.

Finalized my schedule
There have been schedule changes in my reservation, including dropping SDU-GRU (first segment of my return trip). GRU-SDU was changed to a late flight with five hour layover. So, I called AA to move GRU-SDU to the evening so that I will have more than 12 h to tour Săo Paulo. I was not interested in 4-5 hours layover at GRU on return. So, the agent let me change from SDU-GRU-MIA-JFK to GIG-MIA-JFK. This will allow me to access to the Flagship lounges at MIA and JFK. It seems that the Admiral Club at GIG is temporarily closed. Is there any contract lounge at GIG that I am allowed to access? Also, at GRU, am I allowed to access to GOL premium lounge?
I have not seen any report on this deal. Has anyone taken this trip?

On my outbound, JFK-MIA-GRU-SDU, I am not sure that I can access to any lounge at GRU. GRU-SDU is in economy but the prior two segments are in business. I do not have status with AA.
I am more interested in knowing the AA lounge situation at GIG for my return trip.
There were more schedule changes for my outbound flights, which occurred last night. I will have more than 5 hours at MIA. The JFK-MIA is on 77W, on which I selected two seats in rows 1 and 2 (FC cabin), and MIA-GRU is also on 77W, on which I selected seats in row 3 (mini cabin behind FC). The earlier MIA-GRU flight is on B788, which does not have adjacent (forward) seats. I am stuck with this new schedule and figure out how to kill five hours at MIA (other than Flagship lounge).

At GIG they used the Priority Pass lounge which was ok. In terms of a lounge there isn't much to write home about. The flight leaves late at night and the offering is light. On my next trip coming up I'll be flying this route: JFK-GRU-SDU-GRU-JFK.

BTW, I did not change to GIG-JFK nonstop because I would like to visit Flagship lounges in both MIA and JFK.

Traveled Labor Day weekend. Flew the 777-200 both ways. There have been many schedule changes allowing me slight adjustment to the dates and to change from an all-day multi-stop to a one-stop via Miami. I was also able to change the airport from Newark to JFK/LGA. Flight wise everything worked out very well. I had a window seat and slept the whole way there and back.
The lounge in JFK was crowded and combined with the flagship lounge. In Miami we were delayed so I spent some time in the lounge there however it was very bare. Likely because it was late at night.
Have a nice trip!

I really like AA phone agent. I did not get any pushback on my proposed new flights, which were reasonable. The flight change was done quickly without any assistance from a supervisor. Flagship Lounges and Flagship First Dining to start reopening September 2021

I tried to use the tix for this deal last friday, and it didn't go too well. My original routing was EWR-MIA-GIG. The long segment was cancelled many months ago, and AmEx travel rebooked me for the nonstop JFK-GRU. At JFK all AA agents had an attitude, and were giving everyone a hard time. My check-in agent spent a good half hour going through the Brazilian form and the covid test. When he ran out of ideas on what to pick next, he summoned a sup. The latter declared that my itin change was voluntary, and I either had to pay the difference or work something out with the travel agent. Later I also found out from AmEx Travel that they marked me as a "no show".
This was all close to midnight, so AA practically stranded me there. Good thing there were early morning flights, and I had BA Avios -- so I got out of JFK with manageable inconvenience. AmEx Travel eventually got me a travel credit for future use, and AA admitted they made a mistake to deny boarding. Btw, that flight never left ground at least for another day -- AA mobile app kept sending me messages every half hour of delays after delays.
