This is available on AAVacations, with an "I*" fare which should earn EQD based on distance (for a total of 1898 on the non-stop roundtrip at 0.2 multiplier). Going to pick up a few of these for weekend MRs next year with throwaway hotel bookings...

newbie question:

If I book the itinerary with the stop in ATL but ONLY get on the plane in ATL, will it work? Or will they cancel my ticket when they dont see me show up in JFK/EWR?

I ask because I am in MCO and ATL is closer

Your ticket will be cancelled upon missing the first segment.

Are you sure - did you read the fare rules? AA's "Flexible" tickets don't necessarily mean fully refundable.

It seems dead now, but at least via AMEX it was showing as fully refundable with no penalty.

Thanks for having my back, lol! I'm sure the OP here and me discovered this via organic searches around the same time. Should probably have started a new thread then.
