I just searched on expedia and booked using multi-city

DXB-KUL in Nov then KUL-AKL near the end of schedule

Was able to find and price the fare directly on the Oman Air website btw if you'd rather not deal with an OTA.

Was able to get MH KUL-AKL segment as MH marketed, but only in economy. Must be WY marketed to be in J as far as I can tell, tough to say about how that might be credited.

This is a great fare, and as somebody that has always wanted to try Oman Air, I'm seriously tempted. My less than optimal financial situation currently combined with the fact I already took advantage of the $550 BUD-USA fare a few weeks back means I probably won't jump on this one. If the fare departed from Europe or somewhere that didn't require as much positioning, then it would be a serious contender.....

Yeah that weird. Someone must have messed up loading in aircraft numbers. The last time this flight was flown it was operated by an 332

I booked with Expedia because 1. Oman Air is a small airline in the Middle East, won’t be easy to deal when something goes wrong. 2. There are 24 hours free cancellation.
