nice fare, but I am fully booked for next year.

The fare seems repeating every year.

danger Nov 17, 2019 9:36 pm

The first link returns a price of almost $2500. There are some dates with $1400 fares, but when selected they re-price to $2500.

When visiting the Turkish site directly, I'm able to see a couple of ~$1400 combos, but it does take some playing. Just go back and forth with dates until you see discount business fare options.

Yeah. It’s never been this low though, has it?

Remember, everyone, that the stopover option in IST allows you to turn this into two trips.

A steal.

odetophil Nov 18, 2019 12:02 am

48 hours in lie flat business class for 1.4k? (if flying to and from IAH) that comes to about 30 USD/hr, which is crazy.

If anyone has a Google Flights link that works I Will Be Forever grateful

freed0m Nov 18, 2019 12:21 am

My stopovers are two months’ time in each direction.
You are more likely to have an issue with availability than with maximum stay.

Plantz Nov 18, 2019 1:23 am

anything to west coast

Plantz Nov 18, 2019 2:13 am

Just booked one to ORD with a stopover in IST USD 1415

Thank you :)

If anyone has any creative positioning ideas from Europe to MNL I'm interested!

Looks like this fare ends for departures sometime in May?

AirCanada881 Nov 18, 2019 4:13 am

Here's a decent positioning flight option from AMS

1st leg on/before 31 May rest unrestricted

washeelers747 Nov 18, 2019 6:39 am

Nice deal! I assume it’s J fare based on my quick search on ITA.. which program is best to credit TK J flights to? I doubt it’s best option but how about Krisflyer?

also this fare will expire on Nov 30 (IST time?)? I might hold back and wait to see how Black Friday sales go, especially OW airlines

ahopkins767 Nov 18, 2019 7:19 am

This is a flash sale with TK. Got a message from my bank about it...wanting me to spend spend spend!!

Availability has really dried up. Only a few dates left around May with that price.

Maayan Nov 18, 2019 8:47 am

Thanks, OP! Booked a trip spanning eight months. $1435

The flash sale ended yesterday. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Took some fiddling on the TK site but managed to get MNL-IST-JFK next April for a total of $1396 or thereabouts. Earns over 34,000 miles for an Elite member which is an amazing deal, nearly halfway to Elite Plus in a single booking. Thanks OP!

dfs24 Nov 19, 2019 12:57 am

You can get LAX for $1400 if you create an open-jaw, with the only return from LAX. Same applies to SFO

AirCanada881 Nov 19, 2019 1:00 am

Would love to hear all your stories on positioning flights to MNL. There's actually quite a few options from Europe, in business class for sub 1300 EUR but adding the cost of that + the TK fare itself makes for a big lumpsum. This however doesn't change the fact that this is an awesome deal!

I fly to MNL a couple of times a year anyway, so this to me is one return home, then one roundtrip to USA, then one outbound to MNL. Just need to add a couple of cheap IST-TLV-IST in there. :D

Usually just a roundtrip to USA (using Lifemiles) costs me around $2400. So this is a heck of a deal, especially when you get back some $350 in earned miles.

Could you post an example, please? I'm having trouble recreating this.

I believe $1396 does not include any stopover at IST. $1435 comes with stopovers at IST both ways, the ~$40 or so difference is only the additional taxes incurred due to the 2 stopovers, so no change of fare...

The dates I booked are no longer available, however this is how I found it.

I found MNL-IST to be not available on a couple of Fri. So avoid Fri.

Then the easiest was to search for IAH/MIA as the destination. Find the dates that are available at this fare.

Switch the return from IAH/MIA to SFO/LAX. Even if Google flight does not show the price, just go to TK website, and play around with the return segment dates.

B0gdan Nov 19, 2019 8:22 am

I found the SFO route but hesitated when I saw the positioning flight to MNL from AMS was too pricey. And now it's really dry - can't find anything under 1800 USD. It's a really long trip but such a cool route.

jiaogulan Nov 19, 2019 8:31 am

Credit to TK Miles and Smiles and you'll get a ton of miles, then if you have a Citi TYP card then just transfer over a relatively small amount of miles and you'll have enough for a lot of longer business class (saver of course) award flights.

Did you see the fare with CZ in business for 1250 EUR? 787-9 & A350 very comfy seats.

Thank you, I did. But on the dates I needed (which was to make the trip 1 week or under, they were much pricier.

I can't find the TK fare anyway so all the wondering and thinking cost me the trip.

The fare is still there, I recommend using google flights for fast availability search.
