my flights are cancelled. If you are flying before June 30, your flight is cancelled, it just takes a long time for them to go through so many flights, call if you have a flight before June 30, and you can get it sorted.

As long as you booked before APR30, you can change your flight online, for free, without any fare difference, for infinite amount of times, for any new flight before NOV30, as long as you keep your origin and destination the same. Or, of course, you can request for a refund.
My next 2 rt both involved HAJ, which AY pulled out completely, so it is not possible to do so online, and in that case a phone call is necessary. But honestly, this is leagues ahead of FI, who I had the displeasure to deal with last week, which offered no refund or credit or waive of fare difference.
Big kudos to AY, and I am proud to say I use them most often for my EU-related travels. Also it can potentially mean you can experiment around until you get D on both outbound and inbound for maximum mileage earning on AS.
What alternative was offered to you? I tried getting it change to depart from Amsterdam however they were adamant that they only allow changes to another city in Germany, even though AMS is technically closer to HAJ, than, say MUC is...

yes, only German airports if your route does not exist. For BLQ, you cannot even change within Italy because they still operate BLQ. Policies are weird.

last day when BLQ is operating is 5th of August, I want to change it for October but AY agent told me that it can’t be changed to fly from FcO for example. I wonder if anybody managed to change the airport

As I finally got an email stating my flights are cancelled (flights in June, BLQ-HKG), I wrote them on Twitter to ask them to reschedule me for February 2021 and to reroute me either for Warsaw, either for Munich (someone before mentioned, that instead of BLQ they offered him MUC/ZRH/GVA/VIE). Waiting for their response and keeping my fingers crossed. Will let you know the outcome.

I also got a BLQ - HKG ticket on hand, and would like to defer the ticket to Oct/Nov, but saw that the BLQ flight only operate once a week......not sure if they will allow me to change to depart from other airports

To test them out I sent AY a message via the customer contact form asking them how one delivers notice as per Italian law to drop the first segment but only received this generic reply which ignored the question, showed ignorance of the law and linked to the wrong GCC (Finnish not Italian):

The Noshow rule can be found in our General Conditions of Carriage, 3.3 Coupon sequence and use. Accoring to this rule the flights must be used in the sequence provided in the ticket and the ticket shall be used entirely, otherwise the return or onward reservations will be cancelled.

Our General Conditions of Carriage can be found on our website: https://www.finnair.com/fi-en/info/c...rs-and-baggage

Has anyone been able to change from BLQ to say, LHR?

I finally received the flight cancellation e-mail, so I called and ended up cancelling today. I used the US toll free number and was able to be connected directly without a wait. The agent was able to cancel the itinerary for me - though the e-mail implied I could do this online - and begin the refund request. The agent said it would take up to 30 days for a refund.

I manged to change the destination to BKK, however Expedia just sent me an email informing me that they were refunding the money. I can't call as my flights are not within 72h. Anyone have any idea how to reach expedia?

Contact Finnair directly through the chat and explain to them that you couldn't get a hold of Expedia. Ask them to rebook you directly.
I got the same email from them, but Finnair told me the booking was still fine.

How did you convince the agent?
Did you call them or chat with Live Chat?
What was your original route, BLQ/STR/HAJ-CAN/HKG?

Thank you very much!

Here’s what I’ve just been emailed from Expedia: We have issued a credit to the airline for your flight
You receive this email because your airline either canceled your flight or it was noted that you were unable to travel as planned due to the current COVID-19 situation. In any case, you do not have to call us - we take care of everything. Your safety and well-being are of the utmost importance to us. We would therefore like to inform you that we have granted you a credit for the relevant airline for your flight.

All details of your credit, such as the name of the traveler, amount and expiry date, will be sent to you in a confirmation email, which will be sent to you shortly.

I tried this, its diffiicult as the refund was requested by Expedia and Finnair can't undo this. The Finnair agent ended up sending an email to Expedia, waiting to hear back from them. Kudos to the agent never had anyone so motivated.

Meanwhile, I found a way to contact Expedia directly by making a refundable rental car reservation within the next 72h , this confirmation number allows you to get through to the hotline, waiting on hold there now.
