ME and all my friends are converted - even two week leisure trips - no hardship doing some laundry mid holiday.. of course not practical on winter sports breaks but anywhere warm is very simple. Probably five plus years since I've checked luggage

If I understand properly, it's skipping the FIRST leg that seems possible with tickets issued in Italy.
I have been able to book one of these tickets from VCE to SIN with the outbound on LX and the inbound on SQ.
The idea of skipping the first leg instead of flying to VCE first seems quite appetizing indeed.
If no feedback appears, I suppose I will call LX this week-end in order to test the waters.

Unfortunately no. The PVG fare does not allow transfer through Singapore.

Exclamation Word of CAUTION
If booked LH P fare, not all FFP earn points. For example, A3/TG/TK FFP earns 0%. On the other hand, SQ earns 125%!
