Just want to add to the post above

Spoke with AA this morning to see if there was any way to reinstate the ticket.

Explained my entire situation and provided both record locators.

Thankfully I was connected to a very competent AA agent and after a 10min hold my booking was reinstated and fully ticketed

I've never seen zombie tickets like these before but I guess there's a first time for everything

Thanks again OP

Surprising (but great!) that they were a me to reinstate it. Also pretty much erases any doubt about them honouring your ticket.

Any tips on what you said to the AA agent? I'm in the same boat. The final leg of my ticket (MAD to CMN) fell off and the reservation now shows as cancelled. I've called twice to try to get it ticketed with no luck.

Update on the above. After a third call attempt, still no luck getting the ticket issued. AA claims the problem is that Iberia did not confirm the fare for the final MAD to CMN leg. They did offer to kindly re-book me and my companion for ~$3,500 apiece...

Can't really give any tips, but I guess three things worked in my favor.

First, I am an ExPlat for whatever that is worth these days, and I was connected to a capable and knowledgeable AA agent.

Second, my companion's booking actually ticketing after being canceled and me having a record locator to show them gave credence to what I was claiming.

Third, the agent mentioned that she connected with the department that was manually processing the booking, and the person she spoke with actually had manually processed my companions ticket a few days earlier,

Needless to say I lucked out on several fronts.

Called again today but still no luck. Agent said MAD-CMN segment could not be confirmed and fare could not be calculated as they were not sure if the flight was gonna be operated or not. For those of you who were able to get reservations resurrected, what did you feed the AA agents? FWIW, I am looking at MAD-CMN on July 4th and AA system shows no fare available. Is there any specific competent agent you would recommend?

Can't believe what just happened. I tried to purchase CMN-MAD-DFW-LAX-DFW-MAD-CMN on August 11th and it always said pending. Reading the forums, I thought AA wouldn't honor it. I just called AA and told them it still said pending, she put me on hold and 5 minutes later came back and it ticketed! Ticket was $762.5

Just came back from the first leg of CMN-MAD-DFW-XXX

- Trip was fine though it got in late on the west coast.
- CMN airport was better than expected (has dedicated Premium/Fast Track line for security and also immigration upon arrival).
- I spent the night at the Omono at the airport (clean and new rooms; food is an issue however, as are clean plates/silverware); staff were great. Gym had new equipment but small
- Lounge is RAM's big room with a few conversations people did not mind everyone else listening in on
- AA 787 seat was a let down for me. I could not get comfortable at all; AA crew was great, which was a big plus
- DFW customs was empty at 9:30 PM and quick

Odd thing: I had picked my seat on IB's site only to find it reset when checking in. Seems they reconfigured the aircraft or swapped it or who knows. Check your seats if that's important to you. It is a CRJ1000, so all rollaboards were checked at the plane after a bus tour of the airport (no Jetbridge) so hardly matters. My aircraft had only 6 business seats with 4 pax. Meal choice was Fish or Cheese ravioli. They only loaded one fish so I skipped ravioli and FA was kind enough to offer anything from the meal cart. Nice gesture.

FYI you will have to checkin with Iberia's site/app. App probably works fine but the site will give you an issue with US visa even if you are a US citizen. Put 0 into the Visa number and a date in the future and it will spit out your BP. Or you can just go to the counter, which I prefer to get my BP much earlier than that. You will need a paper BP in CMN.

Were you able to print your boarding passes before arriving at the airport?

I was able to print the BP for CMN-MAD-DFW the day before but it took a while to figure out IB site glitches. As mentioned, it kept asking me for US Visa details and the only way I was able to get past that was to provide a fictitious US Visa information at check in. (That did not have have any ramifications with Global Entry/SSSS). I also got my DFW-xxx BP but I reprinted it in Dallas since the one printed in MAD did not have a pre-check.

P.S. There is a Business/Priority line for immigration and security on both sides, so you can easily do a turn within a few hours. I am not sure if it is possible to do an immediate turn on IB/Air Nostrum. If someone figures it out, let me know. I was a bit distracted last time upon arrival.

Has anyone tried an immediate turn? Im assuming its not advisable, but was curious if its possible.

Any hotel recommendations for an overnight in CMN?

Not sure on immediate turn, but recently did an overnight and stayed at Onomo. It was serviceable and cheap. Free shuttle (pickup point is labeled with shuttles for other hotels, but not Onomo on the sign. Seems like they come regularly, but worth calling to tell them you want the shuttle, I think). Was there for all of about 9 hours and didn't eat.
