Let us know how it goes! I remember the AF first class deal from last year, someone booked travel within the next day or 2. That was epic, I forgot what exactly happened but I think they honored the ticket.

We regret that the signature suite as it is not a full fare, would not be eligible. We're consulting with our IT team regarding the seat selection issue.

Stupid question, and I apologize, but having never flown AC before and really having only stuck to oneworld...
Signature suite aside, would I be able to access the other Maple Leaf lounges (or other star alliance lounges) with this R class?
(searching I can't really find any references to R class other than the exclusion from the signature suite)

Just tried to manage my booking on AC website, state that the Itinerary was canceled. I booked it on the big O. So maybe it is not being honored.

AC told you this, or is this just your best guess?

IMO if it earns P fare, it should allow access to signature suite.

I didn't book because I didn't want to spend 10h flying without earning any miles, but I do hope AC honors this fare.
All AC upgrades (paid, bid, eUpgrades, etc.) book into R. The idea that they could sell fares that are purchasable if R is available, and book them straight into R, is hardly a stretch.

That is what I read on AC's site too. Looks like if one is to credit to UA on non-016 ticket stock, it also gets 200% mileage bump too.

I agree, nothing operationally wrong with them selling a R fare. I was just wondering, if this was truly promotional/intentional, why code it as R in the first place then tell people it will credit as P but no SSL access because it's still a R fare. Unless we're seeing the unbundling of business class fares.
