Excellent deal! Thanks :)

NJSwamplands Jan 21, 2019 10:38 pm

Doesn't Austrian add $200+ for "preferred" business class single seats each way?

What about SEN/HON?

dfs24 Jan 21, 2019 10:50 pm

Nice find OP. The solo seats in 7 are free.

lovelybao123 Jan 21, 2019 10:51 pm

Excellent deal, widely available!

jfkeze Jan 21, 2019 10:55 pm

D Class fare...
200% credit to United, Aegean, TAP, SAS, United..
If on OS stock it's a cash basis for credit to LH M&M , not sure if you can use ITA Matrix to force it to book on UA, AA, or another carrier and potentially get 200% miles

Had to look.

Went to seatguru and it is actually a decent seat.

"Submitted by Stig P on 2019/01/16 for Seat 7K
I was sceptical about this seat since so close to the galley, but I found out the flight attendants are mostly using the forward galley. Had a good night sleep and can recommend this seat!"

For those that need to get to BKK from Europe, in March LOT Charters has WAW-BKK for 477 EUR and WAW-SGN 547 EUR... valid as one-ways just on two dates... but can help position...
Also FRA-KUL with Condor usually is 650-700 EUR OW and credits 300% RDM to Alaska...

Category 7: Maximum stay requirementsTRAVEL FROM LAST STOPOVER MUST COMMENCE NO LATER THAN 12 MONTHS AFTER DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN
Works well to combine vacations... :)

For anyone who needs United PQD, this fare can be plated on United (016) ticket stock; it's available on United.com. Note that the number of redeemable miles for a MileagePlus member will be much higher if booked on a non-United ticket, but those would earn 0 PQD.

Meanwhile, Miles & More participants will get much better earnings by booking this on United (2 x distance instead of 4 / €)

ETA: Other Thai airports seem to be available also; it prices out from HKT and CNX, for example.

Keter Jan 22, 2019 12:03 am

D inventory is closed for sale already from what i see. So fast...

zebrametalevel Jan 22, 2019 12:05 am

Did anyone actually manage to book this? I did a few different combinations, and at point of sale each time was told "all seats are gone", even when it said 5-7 were available during booking.

Yup. Its gone. Let me select seats and input payment details before the dreaded "call customer service" error message came up so think I missed it by a whisker...

Congrats to all that managed to get in on it :-)

superpointsLXflyer Jan 22, 2019 12:14 am

I could book it on United.com but no ticket numbers so far. Probably I was too late for the party as well :(

thierry Jan 22, 2019 12:14 am

Thanks OP did book it successfully on OS website for 853 € all in. Seat assigned and ticketed. Interestingly the Premium Economy was more expensive. Seems to be some kind of oversight.....

They clearly must have SOP for this given how fast it was done and it was done the right way. Meaning, pull the inventory, not the fare.

DevDedication Jan 22, 2019 12:15 am

Booked successfully via OS Website too. All ticketed and seats assigned - let's see.

bivinco Jan 22, 2019 12:25 am

Also successfully booked one return ticket between my 2 CX Vietnam fares 😂

Thanks to OP!!!

Clearly a missing zero - they wanted to increase the base fare by USD 490 but missed a zero in the new price. Said that prices FROM Asia to Europe are often outrageous, in this case cheapest P fare business is USD 3,500. So saying it was USD 2,500 discount per ticket (at least) would not make much sense.

nldogbert Jan 22, 2019 12:32 am

Wanted to jump on this too, but I guess due to the fare rules/validity, could not find anything beyond 18 dec that was bookable. I guess it was only for fares valid until that day had the special price. Would have liked to try OS longhaul.

Cheers!

thierry Jan 22, 2019 12:41 am

At this price any long haul product is worth it. Otherwise i don't care too much about OS, especially their crews, quite robotic and lacking in both class and warmth. My personal experience of course.

The OS page also showed some dates in 2020 - at least for the return flights back to Europe.
I was considering to start my status requalification early next year: VIE-BKK on 01.01.2020 was also availale for 15680 THB (before it was pulled).

Marco Namo Yuenyong Jan 22, 2019 12:46 am

DAMNNNN i missed it!!!

oh_lol Jan 22, 2019 1:24 am

Some of them are working from other airports such as HKT + CNX, although the stays are only a handful of days...

The day I get a haircut, first time in nearly 3 months and I miss this deal! Congrats whoever got on this deal.

WilliamAWL Jan 22, 2019 1:49 am

do you think they will honoured the fare? or will do refund like MH?

annielee Jan 22, 2019 1:50 am

Managed to goto payment page from Expedia but still deciding as the return flight via PEK (AirChina) and it's not lie flat (2x2x2) seating... .

No. but via Vayama.

Unfortunately, your booking request on Vayama failed. During the booking process, the airline provided us incorrect seat availability for the price you selected, regrettably we were unsuccessful to rebook your seats.

annielee Jan 22, 2019 3:09 am

i booked via expedia, no cancellation email yet...

Nice haircut easily worth a few of such deals as it can change your life, you never know whom you will meet one day :)

Oh that sounds like Vayama has imperfect booking systems and is trying to blame the airline. Shame! For sure this is a standalone case for now, not caused by OS.

Cheers!

It was available on Austrian's own website until 18 January 2020, it was only letting you book 361 days in advance. Flex was cheaper than Saver!
