Has anyone canceled this ticket for a refund (post the ~24h cancellation window)? Have just learned I need to be in Rome around the same time as I have this booked, and it would really be easiest simply to cancel the whole affair.
Did a quick search through the thread, and though I might have missed it, I couldn't find any info about canceling.
I'd like to think, from Al Italia's perspective, a cancellation/refund is equally beneficial to both parties, as it allows them to sell the seat(s) at more traditional E-class prices. But I'm not so naive as to believe reason prevails in matters of life.
If need be, I'll fly it (I'm a FT'er after all )

Well, despite a delay on every positioning flight I took to get here, I am in BCN in a hotel, and will begin my journey in a few hours! Can't wait!

Haven't tried, since I have Delta flights combined with the Alitalia flight, I'm just going to check-in when I get to the airport.

Checked in at the airport in Barcelona with no problems whatsoever. I'm currently sitting in the Pau Casals lounge (which is nothing to write home about) awaiting my departure to Rome!

I was flying Alitalia A330 to Johannesburg last week so I made this report for all of you who do not know wthat to expect. You can also find there the cempleteguide to Alitalia Rome Lounges so you will clearly know which one to use.
