\just to clarify,,,,did you book via AMEX travel and they have said they are unable to book? Or did you use AMEX to pay and they have cancelled the charge?

Booked through Amex travel and paid with Amex. Received confirmation number.

Sounds to me as if it didn't get ticketed, rather than ticketed and cancelled, no?

it seems so to me too, even because Amex does not issue tix immediately.

Agree with maxvor, no one in the office today who is going to actively cancel bookings and revoke card authorizations. My expectation is that AMEX would put in the reservations overnight, and by that time the fare was not available anymore and therefore bounced. My reservation still shows up. Its called the waiting game for a reason, we have to wait and see. I don't expect any clarity on this in the coming 2 weeks.

After I booked yesterday I had a long email with the reservations I made saying how much I paid, the PNR (AC) number) and :BOOKING STATUSTHIS BOOKING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED Booking Number : - - - - - - -(real number blanked out)

Right so what we are saying is that it probably wasn't cancelled but Amex didn't put it through fast enough before it got pulled - hence it bounced back. Sounds reasonable and sorry if I've given anyone a scare!

wait.... this is about the booking, but did you get the ticket number? It's made up of 13 digit... first three should be 055 or 006.
Let us know if you have doubts.

No worries Lizie, sorry this didn't work out for you. It was a smart move to use the portal initially. Might me good to start tracking who is planning to fly soon on this fare? I am scheduled for beginning of April.

I've just checked, there are no ticket numbers on the document. It says they send them later......

Thank you I guess it's all part and parcel of the learning curve. To be honest this has been a fantastic learning opportunity for me as first time I've done it. I didn't even have a skypartner to put the points to so will get on that for next time
