I bought mine directly on AZ website and it had the correct "business" ticket rules posted ( $ 400 refund, 2 x 32 kg....) so not always an mapping issue. Was able to select seats immediately after purchase, in business. BE on my flight dates are actually higher then what i have paid!

Thanks! I'll wait a bit and see. FTR, I booked through Expedia, and not direct. Not particularly sweating it - either these will be honored, or they won't.

I'd personally favor Delta or AF - have not looked at actual earning on either though. Can supplement with Amex or Chase this way. I guess EY is the same but I don't love their chart and fees, as you say.
Edit: just noticed you're UK based, so apologies by comments were best suited for US based flyers.

woah I am surprised that anyone who monitors this forum regularly enough to catch this one would not even know about the CX deal 3 days ago. Let's just say ignorance is truly a bliss... I literally cried for an hour for missing that one. Let's just say it involves F, CX, HAN, and in my cases rdm cpm below 1...

Although arguably, there are generally better J deals in general ex-Europe - and slightly better infrastructure when it comes to airports and ground transport. So I guess in the end we can call it even with those across the pond!
And also could be worse, like living all the way down under, which I guess must be the most frustrating part of the frequent flyer world save for Antarctica! (no offence meant, I do like all of you Aussies and Kiwis!)

Managed to get one earlier but i have serious doubts if it will stick. Worst case scenario i get a refund via Amex.
Even though it’s basic economy in the terms and conditions they sold it as business on the face of it so they would probably have to honour or cancel and refund. Probably the latter.

Does everyone's e-ticket/itinerary list Basic Economy?
Mine, bought through Expedia, does (with the accompanying restrictions), though includes J seats and "Cabin: Business (E)" in the details.
