For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)?
For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
There are many good fares to China (PEK or PVG). If you have a Chinese visa, these options will be provided. Otherwise, you may have to take advantage of TWOV (visa on arrival). Its information can be found: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chin...er-thread.html

If your requested PQM is in a few thousand, please give a more accurate amount. You will get fewer options with a roundup number (eg, 5000 instead of 4830; IAD-SFO nonstop will work for the latter.)

USA-China-NRT should qualify for TWOV. Will require overnight stay in Beijing,
I arrived at PEK from NRT late in the evening (after 10 pm) two days ago. I noted the crowds waiting for transit visa, at least, 20-30, at this time of day. I guess that the processing of TWOV must be very slow at PEK. It is probably be better to arrive from US (in the afternoon) and fly to NRT in the morning. The NRT-PEK Flight was delayed by about one hour in my past three runs (OJ China runs). They blamed air traffic control at PEK, not NRT.

LGA-IAH-EWR-BQN (Z; x2 PQM), BQN-EWR-ORD-LGA (P; x1.5 PQM) for $822

Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? No

I am sitting in Jacksonville and have a flight home tomorrow (I already counted the PQM I'll earn from this in my total YTD)
The checkin process is offering me to buy miles and PQM.. for $1300 I can get 9000 PQM and 9000 award miles.

Wondering if there is a better option to go somewhere and earn the 11,998 PQM I need to keep 1K?
OR should I buy the $1300 PQM offer and then take a flight for the last few miles?

Have been a long time reader.. thanks in advance for anyone who can help.... I'll try and learn this better to start posting/contributing as well.

Dan
LGA-BQN, Z class outbound, P class return; 2x4400 +1.5x3000 = 13,300 PQM.

Very close in PQM with 500 min for cos-den.

Edit: DEN-NRT-PVG/PEK-SFO-DEN is within $500 if you have never visited China, taking advantage of TWOV.

You can SDC the return to nonstop (3270PQM), which would get you home almost 5h earlier.

UA:$202 IAH-LAX in BasicEcon 1380PQM

You have to fly twice as long in BasicEcon so I would pay the extra to avoid the longer flight. Especially with the middle seat.

BTW, for any short flights, the United website doesn't factor in 500mi minimum, so it can report less than you earn. The receipt is correct, so check after purchase. (Not that it matters in the route above.)
I see that there is a BE run on 12/11 for $140. Iím wondering if I should wait a week and see if something similar comes up for 12/18. Itís still far enough before Christmas that I think they may adjust.

I haven't found anything cheaper than the $544 TUL-BQN you already found. TUL-SJU is +$7, but you can avoid TSA security screening you need to go thru at BQN. But wow, 9.5cpm in econ is rough!

I looked at other options but could not come up with anything for under $800. I called up United and they said they typically offer customer like me a PQM offer at the end of January 2020. He said it would be about 10K PQM for $1000-$1200. He could give me exact amounts. I am assuming it will be more than $800. Your recommendation is now $798.60. Any other recommendations?

Any Ideas for UA -- LAX & 5000 miles?

I'm about 5k short of Platinum status and looking for help finding a trip out of LAX. I've looked into EWR but can't seem to find anything lower than $400.

Any help would be appreciated.
