Early August flights have been cancelled to Da Nang; looks like those flights will now be moved back to September...
This ticket is the trip that never ends!

I've received a bizarre email:
Travel in August. Booking currently looks intact - email doesn't specify which flight is going to be cancelled.
Important information about your flight
Special update
Booking reference: XXXXXX
Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and subsequent changes to our network, your flight will be cancelled.
If you have any associated expenses resulting from this cancellation and you intend to make a travel insurance claim, please use this email in support of your claim.
On behalf of Cathay Pacific, our sincere apologies for this late notice change to your travel plans.

Same cancellation email for Aug 3. For me, it's the HKG to HAN leg that's cancelled. Will update when I contact Cathay and let you all know what options to push dates again that I am given. Thanks for the data points.

After receiving a similar email to the one posted above several days ago when the HKG-DAD segment was dropped from my reservation and only JFK-HKG continued to be shown as confirmed, today I received another email that the JFK-HKG flight had a change as well. Looking at the reservation, the booking on CX841 on 8/27 was changed from A to D. In expertflyer, CX843 and CX845 appear to be zeroed out in all classes throughout August, and CX841 is shown to operate all days except Sunday and Tuesday but doesn't show any F or A class on any days (not just zeroed out, it's simply not there), although it also shows the flight as being operated by a 77W. Maybe other schedule changes are still loading, and the chances of actually taking the trip are very low anyway, so I'm not calling in yet.

Original outbound July 2019. Original return November 2019. Paid the $100 change fee to move to return to June 2020 which reschduled the YVR-HKG leg by a full day and altogether cancelled the HKG - HAN leg. Been chatting with Twitter and at first it was no changes past the one year validity and only refund option. I said there are no flights and pushed for rebook in Nov or Dec. Was only offered Aug 2/3 as its first available. I'm likely to take it and hope for further changes. Just thought I'd share another DP...

Wow are cathay serious ?
I flew one way and my flight Sfo to Hanoi In first class.
was cancelled by cathay (25.5)
I wanted to transfer the flight for next summer (only time I can take the flight ) but they said only next available flight since 1 past .
so I asked how much my refund will be
waiting more then 2 months for an answer
bothering them once in 2 weeks.
today I got mail and my refund is 147.5$ if I want .i would expect it to be at least half of what I paid (almost 1k + 100$ for change date )
do I have anything I can do ? Has anyone got a bigger refund ?

Dates?
That is shocking. Can you say no? I would rebook. No telling how long this will go. While I doubt it will go until next summer, unfortunately, it will likely go for several more months. Vietnam has been very cautious about Corona. I highly doubt Vietnam will open in the next few months, possibly the rest of the year.
CX has been saying all along you only get to push to first available flight. We had Aug canceled and were given the choice of the first day or two of Sept. (Not saying that is right, just what we experienced.)
I expect Sept will be canceled and we will be pushed to Oct, which will be canceled and pushed to Nov, then probably Dec. But no one knows for sure.
