Admittedly, it doesn't blow your socks off, but it seemed like a fairly decent deal to me.... with wide open availability

I was told in this forum that this pops up from time to time.

I think SFO-SIN is more exciting because it's flown by A350.

You can get the nonstop to SIN for only a couple hundred more.

I did LAX -> NRT, NRT->SIN (1 day layover)->LAX. Get to try both the 777 and A350 and spend a day meandering about Singapore :) Some dates were slightly less than $2900 (I think I found our dates for $2881 for LAX->NRT / NRT->LAX and just $6 more for the SIN routing)
