I actually live in Asia but will be in Europe at that time and have a need to go to South Korea for work also within a month from that period so i figured i could just fly there straight without having to make a seperate trip. So i'll position to Warsaw and spend a weekend there in a new city. After i'm done with work in Korea, i'll fly back home.

On the return to Europe, i think using miles would be the best because revenue fares are not much of a bargain from Seoul.

I added the insurance during the booking process since it wasn't much and also because this is the first time i will be taking Aeroflot. I don't think it is because the airline is planning to cancel, just a part of the process i guess.

If somebody else (just like me) got too excited and booked the fare for wrong dates (20+ hr connection rather than same day) and is looking to change/cancel without drawing too much attention to their actions - the website for some reason restricts the ability to refund the ticket, but Aeroflot app does the job just fine.

Just missed this one, was looking at early August but frankly I wasn't sure which dates I would be needed at the music festival there. When having a look, I was able to extend the fare down to Jeju (CJU) for a few Euros more. Getting back would have been a problem howeveer, although I did find a OW in Economy on SU all the way back to Geneva for about EUR683, a totally fair price for a OW. For those that managed to book it, you might keep on eye on OW Saudia fares out of places like CGK. Should be fairly easy to get down to CGK (or wherever in SE Asia) on miles or a cheap OW ticket.

Thanks OP - jumped on that one (and booked a D fare for max flexibility). Lets see if it holds!

Select seats in Aeroflot app! Go in to your booking details and then select the orange "+" bottom in the right corner

Condor has some cheapo one-way tickets (KUL to FRA) in this case for €600 which credit nicely to Alaska...
