[PREM FARE GONE] JL/AA CGK-BOS/MIA $2,451 r/t

CGK is a premium market and usually doesn't get discount fares, but JL has filed the above. Good for ASEAN based AS members and/ or people who want to try JL J and AA premium transcon which can be worked into the routing. Widely available hence no need to discuss booking methods.

Decent fare, but not the best this year. Flown the QR CGK-BOS several times this year for under $2k.

FWIW - Crappy lounges.
If you are not originating in CGK, be prepared for a long transit if you need to move between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, including customs.

I'm aware but QR is good for AA Elites based in ASEAN, whereas this is good for AS members

I too jumped on the QR CGK-BOS one. You did it several times? Wow.

crappy lounge situation ends with the move by jal to T3 next week. Garuda lounge is not as bad as the t2 lounge.

AA Premium transcons don't credit to AS. Only international flights or codeshare flights with AS flight numbers. Also, if JL books into I class only 70% of miles flown credit to MP & no COS bonus. You do still get the 100% additional bonus though. Whatch your routings and fare classes closely.

Obviously it doesn't book into JL I otherwise I wouldn't be posting

Thanks OP. This is a good BA TP collector as well. CGK-HKG-LAX-BOS round trip is 880TP. 2 stopovers permitted one free 2nd 100USD. When routing through NRT the stopovers are around 90USD each.

I was lucky enough to take advantage of the rare LAX to DPS (could also have gone to CGK) on Hong Kong Air for $693 in business class. That was an incredible deal.

Do people not care about F lounge in TYO or HKG or LAX?

Last I check, AS 75k have no F lounge access.

Is LAX Bos transon premium? (I am flying bos lax next month and I don't know anything about it .)

Thanks for the deal.

Last I checked AA were still just doing domestic F for LAX-BOS, not at all competitive with UA, DL or B6.

Correct. Although one could do LAX-JFK-BOS and get the A321T the whole way. That said, JAL flies to BOS, which is a whole lot more appealing than a TPAC followed by a TCON.

How is it obvious? You said for Asian AS Members OR those wanting to try JL J and AA premium TCON. Those are different demographics. I was just adding additional information for the AS demographic that may not follow what is obvious to you. Additional information is better than assumptions. ;) A decent price for sure. :) Quite attractive actually.

CGK-TYO-LAX with AA to BOS throwaway: $2,444

EQM 23685 10.77 CPM
EQM 22685, RDM 40,833 RDM Non Elite 5.99 cpm
EQM 22685, RDM 49,907 RDM MVP 4.90 CPM
EQM 23685, RDM 58,981 RDM GOLD 4.14 CPM
EQM 23685, RDM 63,518 RDM 75K 3.84 CPM.

CGK-TYO-BOS $2,438

EQM 25778 9.46 CPM
EQM 25778, RDM 46,400 RDM Non Elite 5.25 CPM
EQM 25778, RDM 56,711 RDM MVP 4.30 CPM
EQM 25778, RDM 67,022 RDM Gold 3.63 CPM
EQM 25778, RDM 72,177 RDM 75K 3.38 CPM.

Interestingly, the non AA itinerary yields enough EQM to achieve AS MVP status if starting from scratch. RDM adds up quickly. :)

Do this twice, attain MVPG and have 103,111 RDM enough for a J return on CX to NA or 4 intra-asia J flights. Hint: For JL awards DEL is considered SE Asia. SIN-TYO-DEL in J for 25K.

Can you expand on the transit situation? Are you saying that if I'm only in transit involving different terminals, I'll still need to go through arrival formalities which, in my case, would involve having to pay for a visa to enter the country?

They are deep into moving airlines around. The plan is/was for all international airlines to move to terminal 3 by May 2018. It did not happen. Now it is the end of 2018. So far that has not been completed.

In my case, flying MH to QR - both One World - requires tracking from terminal 2 to terminal 3. This requires clearing customs each time, each way. It can be a long haul between terminals. You must use the SkyTrain.
