Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

Ditto that. I have also assigned my seats via PAL UK office a while ago for my March booking.

I had exactly the same issues and my booking was with lastminute (a sister company to Bravofly). I initially spoke with PAL UK who told me that the OTA has to call a Philippine Airlines hotline number to change the booking. Although lastminute were extremely slow to begin with, they managed to get the booking changed and reconfirmed with PAL. You can then call PAL directly to reserve your seats. A bit cumbersome but worked out fine.

So I got another email from lastminute that the flight was changed/cancelled. This is about the third or fourth chance. Do you think they are playing games to deter people from taking advantage of this deal? Oddly, the cancelled flight and suggested alternative seem to be exact same time. Anyone with same issue?

Original flight:
Philippine Airlines Flight 721
Mar 21, 2019-London LHR 9:50 PM Manila MNL 6:40 PM

Alternative 1:
1 PR 721 21MAR LHR(London Heathrow)- MNL(Manila Ninoy Aquino Int.)- 2150 1840 22MAR
2 PR 312 22MAR MNL(Manila Ninoy Aquino Int.)- HKG(Hong Kong Int.)- 2120 2335
Philippine Airlines 721

LHR to MNL Mar 21, 2019, 9:50 PM

Doubt they are playing games. They won't want to cause probs for their excited economy passengers.

Hey folks, i'm flying this over the next few weeks....looking forward to it.

Just a quick question about the lounge situation in HKG - the PR website lists both the Hong Kong Airlines lounge and Plaza Premium lounge for HKG. Will I be able to choose which I prefer to use or will I be directed to one of the two?

Many Thanks.

Your question was answered in the other forum in which you posted it: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30550451-post2.html (tl;dr: you can choose, and Plaza Premium makes most sense)

Yes but i'm still not entirely clear to me as i've never 'departed' terminal 2 before at HKG. So, an airline checking in at terminal 2 does not necessarily have a gate departing from the 'midfield' terminal that HK Airlines primarily operates from?

question to non london guys - as the return flight arrives in the night, are you staying back in london and travelling back next day or risking same night flight?
i have to connect to dublin. if i travel with check in luggage then i dont think i will have sufficient flight to collect bags and recheck in for the last flight of day (2110hrs)

Overnight in the T4 Premier Inn for me. I will have luggage and it was just too tight. Hotel was £33 when I booked it.

I know we are unable to manage our booking on the PR website with the OTA issued PNR but has anyone been able to use online check in with said PNR?

How are people crediting these flights to Etihad (or others)? When I called they weren't able to apply my Etihad number for some reason. Or is it just a case of calling again?

I registered with ANA, I was able to enter the number online, I think at check in.
2 of the flights have credited automatically, I've requested the others and waiting while they verify.
