Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

Stupid question. Got two emails, one from LM and one from PR.
LM says that if you do nothing then the changes are accepted. PR email says to confirm them.
Assume this is the same thing, PR takes their lead from LM if you don't query the change. I don't mind - they've introduced a 26 hour delay between Monday arrival in MNL and Tuesday departure - I can do some sightseeing. Just don't want PR to just randomly find an excuse to cancel a good sale deal.

As others have said before, I don't sem to be able to go to MMB and see flight details - presumably because it was booked through LM.

Did anyone else book from airfarenetwork? It's a different website, not LM DBA, correct?

No activity here.

You should have only received a notification if your flights have changed. Have you checked on the Philippine Airlines website booking engine to see if flights are still scheduled for your travel dates?

The PNR does not come up. I tried using the one generated by PR and by OTA. I see my eticket via tripcase but dont know how to search PRs website using it. Any suggestions?

I think the poster meant to attempt to search for the same flights again, to see if they still exist.

No changes on my itin, flights still bookable for the same dates/times.

Gotcha. Yes, I simulated the dates and the times and flight #s are all the same.

I know we should all wait a few more weeks before we are certainly but at the 3 week mark I'm feeling pretty confident about this fare sticking 😊

For the wiki:

Outbound
LHR-HKG : 09/02/19 : MoonMan85
Inbound
HKG-LHR : 22/02/19 : MoonMan85

And if Philippines could join Oneworld or another alliance by then it would be much appreciated

I will do a wiki update shortly if no one else dips in, but don't hold out any hope on PR joining an alliance before you fly, it typically takes about 2 years from the announcement to an airline being fully operational in an alliance.

Yes, given there would have been some manual work to do with reconfirming people’s itineraries for the changed flights, I think this may well stick. Fingers crossed!

Just got an e-mail from Lastminute.com that they cancelled the tickets per my request, which I didn't! I tried to get an alternative routing for the moved return flight and all of a sudden they said only possibility was cancellation. This was all by e-mail! I told them I didn't want that and that would agree to the original change. Now 10 days later I got the e-mail that the tickets got cancelled and also don't see the PNR anymore in trip case.

I'll try to fight it, but I have the idea that when the PNR is cancelled not much can be done. I do think this is an isolated issue, and also am the only one here at the moment. So maybe I pushed my luck and others will stick.

I guess that means that they are definitely aware of this now.

I booked 3 tickets from airfarenetwork and 2 from travelup - the outbound for the 3 tickets was initially a day after the 2. But I can see in tripcase both have changes to their itineraries, but didn't receive any communication from either TA. The outbound of the 3 have been changed (LHR-MNL by 2 days, to after the MNL-HKG leg as some have posted above), and inbound of both sets moved by a day..

As a newbie, I don't want to jump the gun and make the wrong move. Should I contact PAL directly to sort out the outbound leg? (I was hoping to try and get it moved to the prior day of the initial outbound and line it up with the 2 tickets from travelup)
