Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

No word about class of services, but just got information about change of PR0721 from APR 10 to APR 11 and PR0720 frp, APR 15 to APR 16.

At a very quick glance, some Monday and Wednesday rotations have been taken out of the schedule, and I think I also spotted at least one Saturday on a random date.

What was odd though is that although the booking function shows the inbound flight as "not offered" in the PR booking engine the outbound flights that form that rotation are still available to book. This probably means that some more flights are due to be cancelled due to schedule changes and there is still some dust to settle yet. I've had my LHR-MNL-HKG shifted out by one day from 13 to 14 Mar.

Remembering that for most of the forum members who have booked this fare our bookings are several months out, it's probably worth waiting a few days to see if there are some more schedule changes. The airline will likely easily agree to shift bookings to days either side of the original booking date but I query if a number of bookers force the issue for a reroute onto another airline on the original booking date if that might yield unintended consequences - after all we still don't know where the source of the cheap fare care from... the airline or the OTA.

Also got an email frå lastminute now. Was a bit worried when it said cancelled, but there should be no problem. I'll wait it out for a while.

Dear afirm,

Unfortunately, the airline has cancelled/modified flight [PR 721] and your itinerary is no longer valid.

If you would like to find an alternative flight, you can contact the airline directly on [0044 808 1649888 ]. The airline is required to assist you in this situation.

If you would like to request a refund, please respond to this email within the next 72 hours or call us on one of the numbers below.

Please note that:
• refunds are at the discretion of the airline and, although they are usually processed on the basis of a return ticket, you may only be reimbursed for the part of the trip which is affected.
• if we do not hear from you, no refund request will be forwarded to the airline.
• this communication applies only to the flight and has no effect on other services which you may have booked. Any request for the modification of additional services will follow the fare rules of the provider as indicated in the confirmation email.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we remain at your disposal.

Kind regards,

There must be some wider PR ops changes going on as my LHR-MNL/MNL-LHR flights have been changed from the A350 to the 77W. Dates are 20 Jan and 26 Jan.

No changes on the MNL-HKG/HKG-MNL legs for equipment or any schedule changes.

I also received an email from LM and a couple of hours later from PAL, my return flight from MNL was on a Weds, they moved me to Thursday. The flights to/from HKG stay the same so now I have a day in MNL, which can't be that bad, I've never been there. I called LM as instructed on the email, they read the new flight times, asked if I accepted the changes and said they'll email the new itinerary, no mention of the class of service or anything else.

Can you report back if the new itinerary still shows ‘Business Class’?

Here's an odd one.. my flight to MNL has been moved from a Wednesday to a Thursday, but with the MNL-HKG flight still left on the old day. Meaning I technically am now flying MNL-HKG before I fly LHR to HKG. I'll sit tight for the moment but might need to get in touch after a few weeks/months if it stays that way!

For what it's worth my itinerary on LM is still showing Business (but also seems to be showing the old travel dates too).

It does, the latest email confirmation is exactly the same as the one received earlier today but with the new date on the return flight. All flights in business class

This is the same for me too. My LHR-MNL Wednesday flight has shifted to Thursday, but no change to the corresponding connecting HKG-bound flight. Travelling at the moment but I'll try to get an up-to-date itinerary from LM / PAL.

So, I originally booked return on 18/03/2019. MNL - LHR was moved to 19/03/2019, but HKG - MNL stayed the same. So I declined and got new flights offered for travel on 18/04/2019. Seriously?! All seems auto messages from I computer, but now I’ll need to make a call at a certain point.
