Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

Oh, the CheckMyTrip also has a seat map feature.
And it shows the business cabin.

Best of luck, guys. I really hope this sticks for you.

Just a thought...if they do downgrade it to Y, can you get 75% back?
TripCase is showing my booking as Business.
LHR-MNL-HKG seat map is showing J and Y seats on the a350 and A330
HKG-MNL-LHR is showing J and Y seatmap on the A321 and A350. :-) so far so good

Both PNRs in the email I'm looking at are letters only. I'm wondering if there's a difference in your booking - e.g. did you have anything additional like hotels, or are there any code-shares?

Ah, yes, I booked a hotel package, hoping that would increase the chances of the deal being honored.

The MyFlights app (synced with TripIt) indeed shows two letter-only PNRs.

Edit: Sorry, my mistake. Somehow two separate
bookings for my friend and me were combined into one in TripIt/My Flights.
We both have a Sabre and Amadeus PNR each.

Looking good then! I'm kind of wishing I had taken a punt on this now.

If you've added the booking by forwarding an email, then disregard anything either of those say.

Good shout. I suspect that's the differentiator between those that can access the bookings and those that can't.

Without getting ahead of ourselves, where to credit these flights? ANA or Etihad?

This is to do with how the frame is rendering in Trip Case. If you open it in a new window and zoom out you will see the whole seat map (albeit with some business class rows/premium economy missing for some reason).
