Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

Speaking of odd, I booked only the flight without any of the insurance they offer but they ended up charging it anyway, 70£ extra...

I had to go back and remove it twice. I only noticed that the fare had jumped as I got to the payment page on Paypal..

Decided to jump on the bandwagon as well and booked for April... Let's see what happens. Tried to book the Edinburgh - Penang Qatar flights last week but I was too late and it didn't ticket.

I'm in, paid just a deposit for a combined flight+hotel in early January for 2 nights only, requires taking just the one day off work. No confirmation numbers yet, let alone any that work. Doing it for the PR A350 experience and the 125% miles with EY, assuming it's in Z. Good luck all, and thanks @Raffles!

Booked in April. Indeed the booking is not displayed on the airline's website. However, that has happened to me before (twice in the last year - once with China Southern and once with Ethiopian) with tickets purchased for correct fares... So who knows. Good luck to everybody!

I can pull up my reservation on both TripCase (Sabre) and CheckMyTrip (Amadeus). CheckMyTrip shows the ticket number and says the ticket is "confirmed."
Now where is my popcorn...

Did you leave it in the Penang thread? Or maybe the Iberia 9K promo thread?

I was too late for the Penang thing. While I tried to find dates, they pulled the fare.
And I feel the suspense is gone with Iberia? We still haven't spent all the 720k Avios...

My girl-friend made me throw away that popcorn. Still makes me sad.

If this books as I does it earn anywhere other than Philippine? I know the answer upthread but I booked May 7-17 and expedia had that as an I fare. Curious but doesn't make me want to change cancel (neither does seeing this itin show up at 432 gbp on trip.com ) Prob gonna combine with an avios redemption and do thailand.
