Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.

The last PAL "flash sale" that I remember. People flew although probably not as popular as this one.

I've done a few more Wiki updates, anyone who doesn't have the necessary number of previous posts (90 I think) to add stuff into the Wiki themselves please just post below and I or someone else will add them when we have a moment.

Although I'm not an expert, generally most Error Fares tend to have action taken upon them within 1 to 2 weeks. If nothing has happened by say the end of the first week of October and the OTAs and PAL have gone through their monthly financial settlements with each other I would guestimate that there is a very high chance this might stick. Until then, it's in the lap of the gods.

Can anyone confirm if this ticket has any flexibility on amending dates?

You can add my dates for the wiki: LHR-HKG 24.03 and return on 28.03

Anyone else overnighting in MNL? I've never been before so I managed to book with a night in MNL both ways. That and I really didn't fancy the early start on the return as my nights in Hong Kong usually end up in Ned Kelly's Last Stand doing shots with the band at 3am. Bonus is an A330 on the MNL-HKG-MNL

if you look at my posting on #144 I have found some summary fare rules that apply to a current ex-LHR sale listed on the PAL website, and it's quite possible that they apply to this fare. But until someone can get the full rules from the GDS for the fare basis Z9ITPRGB then we can't be certain.
