Schedule change!

HX now has two flights each day HKG-DPS, but as of March 1st the afternoon flight stops operating. I currently have a forced overnight in Hong Kong, arriving at 635pm and departing 1220pm the following day. This schedule change makes my layover just over 24 hrs, as the only connection to DPS will then depart at 720pm. If I ask HX to put me on the 720pm flight on the previous day, is a 45 minute connection doable? Will they let me, since MCT is one hour? I don't mind spending the extra time in Hong Kong, but would prefer to not lose an extra evening in Bali. Thoughts and/or experience with HX schedule changes?

HKG-SGN is now zeroed-out in inventory from now until Feb 4th.
something’s going on for sure, perhaps dropping the route.

Unless you're not planning to return to Asia any time soon you're best off redeeming future flights directly with FWC (unless the entire Hainan Group is going under).

Hmm, still showing availability on the 19th, 26th and 3rd. Could just be an error.

Not checking

I'm bumping this back up to see if anyone has tried to not checkin at the Hong Kong counter and instead just go straight from t-4 through the connector bridge and checkin at the gate?

all these HKG-SGN zeroed-out flights show mostly empty seat maps.
flight aware shows operting daily, including in air now.
the return segment SGN-HKG has inventory for sale.
my best guess is route is being dropped very soon and HX wants to minimize stranded passengers at this outstation.
am supposed to be on the flight end of month (and just paid for my $25 evisa).

Just finished flights to PVG. Agent in LAX gave me this card at check in, good for them. They honored the fare, they can reap the social benefits

Let's just hope AZ follows suit on their deal.

Very grateful to Hong Kong Airlines for honoring the fare so I'll definitely tag them in some posts when I fly.

It does seem a bit odd though singling them out at check in. I wonder how the person is associated with the price they paid.

It wouldn't be difficult to flag the PNR somehow, so the check in agent could see. Really all they have to do is look at the ticket.

That's hilariously cheeky, I like it. Shows that they're taking full advantage of the marketing opportunity and consumer goodwill from the fare. I'm all for it; maybe it'll make future special fares more likely to be honored by other airlines if they see the marketing power.

I had a schedule change and was able to change my flight. They gave me one option to change to and it was pretty much take it or leave it. I doubt they will change you to the one with 45 minute connection since they will likely pick it. Also, It took forever since I booked through Expedia.

I guess I can answer on my own as I just checked in. Absolutely no question asked regarding the low fare. If the connection is under 24 hour your bag will be tagged all the way to destination. So have some laundry in the carry-on if you're staying overnight in HK.

I left Michigan on Thur and it was the right call, due to the storm I may have been stuck in Midwest if my domestic flight was scheduled Friday night. This is a scenario (especially during the winter) where self connecting overnight is no longer a safe and sure bet.

I've been seeing some J flights between HKG-SGN and vice versa. Was anyone able to rebook to J on this segments?

I've tried to get Expedia to re-book me but they were too slow and I wasn't able to change my flight to J on Feb. 16th. Availability disappeared the next day.
