My plan is a Fortune Wings status match from Delta, and then use the resulting miles on Alaska domestically (US).

I'm not quite in the time period yet to request the match.

Can you use Fortune Wings points to buy Alaska flights? I did not know that

I wonder if they will let you do regional/international upgrades from Economy Class (X/ V/ N/ Q/ U) to Business if the flight > 11,001 km at 11000 points.

Pretty sure its a typo and should be 110,000 not 11,000 :-)

Thank you for this update. If I read it correctly, you moved your outbound sfo-hkg leg a day earlier and kept the existing hkg-sgn leg. You were accommodated in business to Hong Kong, but helped the airline out by downgrading your hkg-sgn leg to economy even though it was still the original date/flight as they needed the seat for some reason?

Furthermore, they had no reason to help you other than you asked nicely. Your flight wasn't cancelled like some of the others, correct?

My recommendation, request for an Extra Leg room Seat at the same time of your request in Economy. Still don't know if they will offer lounge access with an Economy ticket.

Correct. So I only made a request to move my outbound SFO-HKG 1 day earlier, still in business.
Did not change my HKG-SGN leg that was downgraded from Business to Economy, not a date change.
Expedia was given similar options as stated above for those affected by the class change. They had to call in to Hong Kong Airlines to get the approval code to enter in their system to make the change that I requested.

If one of your segments had a date, time, or class change, I'm fairly certain you can push for a date change within reason.

Thanks. The difference for me is I have not been subject to a class downgrade, it sounds like you were. Im going to bangkok and my negotiating power may be smaller.

SFO to hkg was pretty good with better food than Cathay but uneven service. IPass doesn’t work - it can find the network but doesn’t connect. Pricing is 100mb plus 5mb bonus for $22.99 usd. Pretty slow too.

Strange iPass didn't work. HK Airlines is on the list.

I am guessing HKA changed something. It’s still Panasonic but the purchase options are different - no more 500mb pass and the signup screen seems new. It will connect to WiFi but iPass cannot connect.

Yeah - that's too bad about iPass. The pricing otherwise is pretty atrocious. From the days when emails had no images, that might have been usable. Today, that would be gone in a flash.

My first iPhone plan after the AT&T unlimited as a 200 MB/month, I think, for comparison. But that was maybe eight years ago.

Now, browsing on a computer, 105 MB would just not go far. Just background apps catching up would eat a lot of that.

I am starting to believe this is real, supposed to leave sept 5 LAX > HK --BKK and back

fingers and eyeballs crossed.
was the fare honored?
Expedia called and said my flight may have been rescheduled or cancelled and they’re looking into it.

Silver lining - it’s so slow that you might not want to use 105mb. Took around 5-10 minutes to download a simple webpage with a few drawings which was around 2 MB’s I ended up using it all over the 14 hour flight but it craps out a lot too and still charges you for that data.
