Still looks to be some availability on various routes very close in. SFO-HKG with various outbounds and returning 8/31, e.g.

Was successful in booking SFO/PVG/LAX around 17:15 CT for travel in Feb 2019 on the HX US site. ~$1200 for 2 travelers.


For those looking on EF, this books into J, which must be available on both segments. Availability is scarce - I suspect the J inventory is drying up vs. fare being pulled (for a bit longer at least).

After booking, where on siteHK Air site can we select seats?
(We have our ticket #'s and confirmations showing business class, but, Priceline says seats at checkin.)

Did that, too, but when I try to look up tickets under the bookings/search other order page, I get "Unable to retrieve booking record. Please contact our customer service center." Expedia still shows record intact.

ETA: if I look up tickets outside of the account page, the record shows "confirmed", but that page just shows segments in order, and that's it.

Did you use a middle name? I noticed that HKA site is really picky with those. If the OTA uses a space it won’t work since that tool takes the space out, but it will work on other parts of the site.

HX website does not allow seat selection nor rebook etc at this point... chance that HX won’t honor this fare, or just the website is garbage?
