Out of curiosity, did you figure out a way to add it to your account on HK to view/pick seats? I've been poking around inside login area, but getting no success at Bookings > Ticket Booking > Search Another Order using same info. May just not be the proper way to do it and I'll keep poking around, but since you seem to be several steps ahead of me so far figured I'd ask ;-)

So odd...maybe it was my dates but I literally never saw availability...even back at 9AM PT / 12 Noon ET... was trying to get LAX to MNL

No such luck for me

Has anyone seen a fare match or reduction from non-Chinese carriers? These fares sound delicious, but I am not sure about this carrier.

I selected all of my flights seats when booking on Expedia.

Live a little. I've flown HX several times HKG - BKK - HKG after Delta discontinued BKK service. My only issue (one time) was horrid security / customs lines leaving BKK, for a 4:00 am flight believe it or not. HX held the flight until 4:40 waiting for everyone and it was much appreciated.

Best reason to fly business versus economy to BKK is to get a priority pass through the immigration lines. ;-)

Just booked SFO - HKG at 15:12 PST on HX website directly! $750 Dep Aug 24th Return Aug 31st 2018.

Believe me I know. Had to book a last min ticket and was stuck with Y. J was the equivalent of flying from the U.S.
