Apparently some dates/destinations are still available, but they are disappearing pretty fast.

Just booked a SFO-BKK return via Priceline, although I have a HX confirmation number I do not have ticket numbers.
Anyone else get ticket numbers immediately?

Here, here. I’m with skunker all the way on this.

But the fare is fully refundable, so there was no need to race to the phone and alert the OTA, even in the first 24 hours.

And, no, the lack of being published or getting pulled quickly has nothing to do with its legitimacy. Airlines do hub attacks all the time that only last a couple hours. In the very recent past most of CX best fares were only available via their website and weren't published.

That's ridiculous. No airline needs to point to random FlyerTalk posts as "evidence" of anything. The DOT has given airlines cover to call just about anything an "error fare."

  • DOT: I think this is a legitimate fare and you have to honor it.
  • HX: We disagree; it was an error.
  • DOT: Sorry, we think it was legitimate.
  • HX: But look! Some people on an internet forum called it an error!
  • DOT: <gasps> Well I'll be! Since everything on the internet must be true, and since the term "error fare" is so well defined, that settles it; you're off the hook.
Whether the fare will be honored or not, I have no idea, but I'm entirely confident that comments made on this board will play no role whatsoever in that decision.
Airlines might not “need to” but they do. In addition to the case skunker alerted you to, there’s this AA case: https://www.transportation.gov/sites..._2015-11-3.pdf.
American maintains that the explosion of social media mentions not only prompted significantly more bookings than normal, they also put readers on notice that the fares were published by mistake. American states that in numerous social media contexts, posts were made characterizing the offered fares as a “mistake fare” and urging consumers to purchase them quickly and not take any actions that might alert American to the fact the mistaken fares had been offered.3 In American’s view, social media posts acknowledging or recognizing that the fares were offered by mistake yet urging readers to rush to book them shows an intent to cheat, as many consumers knew the fares were not valid.
American lost the case, but it is nonetheless abundantly clear that social media posts – like the ones you have made – are playing a role in airlines’ defenses.

Yeah, ever hear of William Shatner?

Wasn't planning on going to Asia, but got in an hour ago and will go to PVG off-season with this ticket.

Maybe I can use my Mariott certificate there! =)

Any lax-dps fares for next year still left? Picked up a PVG and BKK each already but DPS is a lot scarcer.

QR does the latter (but the option is hidden really well) so they can avoid offering free cancellations.
True, AA does that as well. It's one or the other and I'm not seeing a hold option with HX.

That requires ticket numbers, and Priceline just gave me a PNR.
That is why I was asking about ticket numbers.
