Got this for Mrs Tafflyer and myself. November LAX-HKG, 3 day stopover then HKG-PVG. April 2019 from PVG-HKG-LAX.

Booked directly on the airline website, but isn't it painfully slow. Seats allocated and the payment hung up in the last step. E-Ticket received 5 minutes later though and seats allocated successfully. USD 1,154 in total for 2 including the stopover. A bargain.

WooooHoooo success just now on HK site. Took about an hour of reloading etc :-( but at $539 USD wow.
LAX-PVG 26 Feb - 13 Jun
Selected seats, E-tik and confirmation arrived immediately, shame VA wont credit points from N-America but still a great deal.
Will position to LA on points meet up with old High school buddies around my birthday on 14th Feb and see if I can convince them to do a week at Mammoth. Will also return to AU on points.
Don't know if I will fly the return but maybe use it to get to EU the long way?
Hope they honor this fingers crossed.

I was able to book August 28 through September 8 from LAX to PVG via HKG for $617 confirmed round trip in J. Other days were slightly lower. I searched on Google flights and booked on expedia. Here is the link to Google flights. https://www.google.com/flights#flt=L...;sc:b;sd:1;t:f

The flight chart does not work to see lower costs on different dates. They all show up as over $2000.

I've been trying to get a later return, but tried all of September and could not find anything. Has anyone had any luck with this? I would prefer to stay 2-3 weeks.

Here's a thought, pair this up with CZ PVG-LAX in J for $1555 and you have yourself 2 J Return trips from China to USA for under $2000
